  • Coach Mo compares Summit League vs. Missouri Valley

..."Omaha is getting a new arena, IUPUI is getting a new arena, North Dakota
State is getting a new practice arena, South Dakota is getting a new arena.

Right now, I think the Summit League can compete with The (Missouri) Valley
with the exception of Wichita State and Indiana State.

South Dakota State beat Belmont by 20 and they're (Belmont) going to win
the Ohio Valley. We've added Denver and Oral Roberts, our league is going to
    be a monster."

..can't blame him - he's probably right - I believe every game this season between a Summit team & an MVC team
was won by the Summit despite all of those games being on the road for the Summit.

Coach Mo also adds a little humor....
    "Injuries healing?
Another positive from Saturday was the return of Remy Roberts-Burnett.
Roberts-Burnett had missed previous games due to a concussion.

"Remy wears a helmet in practice, he looks like SpongeBob SquarePants," Molinari said.
"But we're still battling those injuries, Mo (Conde) is out with a concussion,
Big Mike (Ochereobia) landed on him at practice and if you have a headache, you sit out a week.
"I think we lead the nation on concussions, which would be the only this we lead the country in."

Losing Creighton was a huge blow to the MVC we're going to be feeling for a few years. I really expect the NCAA to split D1 into the major conferences and the mid-majors similar to the former FBS and FCS split. The MVC is definitely on the outside looking in now.

Rpi statistics would back that up.

Wichita stands alone at rpi 7

Isu blue 56. North Dakota state 45
      Mo state 111. Denver 142
      Uni. 116. Ipfw 146
Isu red 125. South Dakota state 147
      Drake 161. Omaha 165
      Siu. 206. South Dakota 245
      Evansville 220. Wiu. 267
      Bu. 250. Iupui 309
      Loyola 284.

Obviously it's easier for valley schools to get better games so all that being said I'd say after Wichita state it's about dead even this year

Summit was 2-4 vs the MVC this year.

The 2 wins were against Bradley. (IUPUI and IPFW)

Indiana State, Drake (2) and Evansville all own win over Summit teams this year.

And Missouri St. beat future Summit member Oral Roberts in Tulsa.

Love Mo but according to Real Time RPI the Summit is ranked 19th while the Valley is 12th.
