  • Tramique - another Triple Double

BU recruit Tramique put up another triple double against McLennan...
I am really looking forward to seeing how much this kid can help us...

He had 28 pts, 11 rebounds, 11 assists, 4 steals in their most recent game -
Hill College is 20-8 and TS is averaging 20pts/7.4rpg/8.5apg/3.1spg

    Exciting

Man, his play has gotten me really excited. This is a huge bright spot for us. I'm really curious to see how his stat line transfers over to MVC play.

Don't get to excited BUfan. I don't think we'll see the numbers next year that he's putting up this year but he's got to be better than what we're returning at the guard spots.

but those kind of numbers in any players signed to Bradley haven't happened since Cellus was putting up 30 ppg in junior college

would love for the local sports reporters to find a way to Texas and get video of this kid - it would help sell a few more tickets for next year if we can get some highlights........

I am more interested in his assists than his points. If he has large numbers in points then we will have the same problem next year as what we have now. Other players standing around instead of getting into the flow of the offense

but if he comes in being called T-dub and fails to produce any triple-doubles here - then it might be a little overkill...maybe just "The Waiter"??

anyone know who was the last player to come to Bradley having averaged 20ppg in their preceding season??

I am going to guess the last one was likely Donivine Stewart and before that - Jordan Prosser...and I don't think any recruited in the past 3 years even come close - although a couple years before he got here, SZ put up big numbers at a tiny HS in Alabama.
If you go back before 2007, then both Sam Maniscalco and Eddren McCain averaged over 20 ppg..
before that Ray Brown, JJ Tauai, Jeremy Crouch, Cellus......

I'm more excited about Tramique than any other JC transfer we've had in a while. I'm thinking if he can be even 75% of what Tony Bennett turned out to be, we're going to have a great player.

Tramique's stats will essentially just replace Walt's stats, so unless 1 of the other reserves steps up, it will be just another repeat season.

Really hoping this kid pans out. Going to be interested in who carries the scoring load next year with Tramique coming and Shaw eligible.

For the record, though we all hope Mike Shaw can be a good scorer, that was not the case in his 2 years at Illinois. I think people may be expecting a little too much for him to become a significant scorer right away.
He played in 34 games in two seasons at Illinois. For a big man, he made only 10 field goals in 30 attempts (33%), and scored a total of 29 points in 34 games, for a cumulative scoring average of just 0.85 points per game.
His rebounding stats were also quite low- just 48 rebounds in 34 games for an average of 1.41 rebounds per game.
His free throw percentage was 41.7%.

I dont want nor do we need Tramique to make up for Walt's scoring. What we need Tramique to do is play under control and distribute the ball to the right folks at the right time. We need him to control the flow of the game and handle the pressure during the guts of the game. If he comes in and averages half of the points he averages now and does what I just asked he will help us win games.

What is the deal on Brooks? I haven't heard or seen anything since his stated intention to attend Bradley. If it can't be put on the board, could you PM me.

Nothing new to report. He stopped tweeting after he made the initial proclamation that he was committing to Bradley, and Bradley has never made any statement. Our reporters also have never reported anything to clarify the situation. I have heard there may be academic work that needs to be done.
