One game today, Sunday, Feb. 16-
Wichita State at Evansville at 4 PM Central Time
The game is on the MVC-TV Network, and also available on ESPN3 (subject to blackout).
Wichita leads at the half 38-32. Ron Baker leads the way for the Shockers with 15. Cleanthony Early has 0 FGs and 3 points. D.J. Balentine leads Evansville with 10 but is just 2-8 from the field, both of them 3's. Biggest lead for Wichita was 8. Evansville with 9 turnovers. Nice to good FT shooting for a change as both teams were 7-8.
Box score for the Wichita State Shockers vs. Evansville Purple Aces NCAAM game from February 16, 2014 on ESPN. Includes all points, rebounds and steals stats.
Tekele Cotton doing a good job defending Balentine.
Evansville has come back to trail 65-60 with 5+ minutes left.
I got to say, I wish the MVC-TV Network would get John Rooney to do more of their games. I love listening to him, he's good. The color guy Mark Adams is also extremely knowledgeable and good without showing any biases.

I agree. Both know their basketball and are enjoyable to listen to. I did find it interesting that in the Larry Bird trophy watch for MVC MVP that along with Early, Van Fleet and Balentine the other 2 guys mentioned will be going head up on Tuesday, SIU's Desmar Jackson and our own Walt Lemon.
The Shockers didn't hold on as much as once again put the defensive hammer down late. The game was 65-60 at the 6:00 mark and they outscored Evansville 19-8 the rest of the way. Ron Baker had a career high 26 for the Shockers while Fred Van Fleet had 18 with 8 assists. D.J. Balentine was held to 5-17 shooting as Tekele Cotton forced Balentine into some tough shots. Baletine ended up with 19 points along with sophomore center Egidijus Mockevicius, who might be the best center in the MVC right now. There were a total of 2 missed FT's for the game. Wichita was 18-19 and Evansville was 15-16. Evansville did shoot just over 50% from the field to stay in it but 17 turnovers and conversions by Wichita off of those turnovers sealed their fate. Next victim, I mean, team to take on the Shockers will be Loyola in Chicago.
interesting Big Ten game - Minnesota wins at Northwestern...54-48
Northwestern's Drew Crawford with an awful game 1-15 AND 0-6 from the arc.
Northwestern scores only 16 pts in 2nd half and nearly went the final 7+ minutes without making a FG, scoring a relatively meaningless bucket with 10 sec. left - Taphorn doesn't even get in the game
