    Final: SIU 75 Bradley 64

t...I have to differ with you. We may not always like PJS coverage, their rose colored glasses, Etc.,BUT...We are not where we are because of them.
We are where we are because of an over-controlling, close minded, interefering, micro managing, despotic, vindictive President who is in the process of tearing down Bradley athletics; a feckless "yes" man AD; and an absentee & uncaring, non-Bradley backgrounded board of trustees who have no idea what is happening and/or refuse to get involved.

Had 4 of his 9 seasons he finished in the top 3 and 7 of his 9 seasons finished in the top half of the league. Had he not been screwed by the ncaa selection crew a couple times his tenure at missouri state would have lasted longer im sure.

I think he is a real good coach
I think very highly of Barry - one of the best Valley coaches in the last 20 seasons. He gets his guys to play hard...sometimes that takes some nagging, but he gets the job done. He's got the Salukis as a major threat in the Valley tourney...to at least get to the championship game at least.

At least Grier started hitting 3's again. How far have they fallen, with Wells in there?

Don't forget there was a very prominate trustee with a Bradley background who threatened to quit, and he might have for all I know because I lost all respect for him, when his choice for the coach replacing Mo wasn't selected. Other so-called prominent members of the community gave up their tickets.
What part of illegal don't you understand?

This team is really bad, and it appears to be getting worse, and we are about to lose our best 2 players. Our game plans seem inadequate, we repeatedly get beat by teams with lesser talent, and our players don't seem to get better or stop making the same mistakes every game. We were already dead last in offense pre-conference (despite the promise of a high-powered, fast paced offense) but in the MVC, the scoring keeps dropping even lower. But at least we've increased something- turnovers and losses are up. We have lost about 1/3 of our season ticket buyers and fans, and next year will be worse.

But hey! None of that matters, 'cause Jim Les got fired and we're gonna have a new mascot!
Plus, we get one more chance to play a near-300 RPI team (Loyola)!
You said we could read whatever we wanted to in your earlier post, then, get shots at what we read into your earlier post, an obvious judgement on current coaching staff and desire for the old days. As for the anti JL crowd exclusively bringing this up. PLUEEEEEZE.... You can't possibly say that with a straight face..... C'mon man..... But I digress....

For the why did we fire JL at BU and lead to all time misery crowd, no one seems to be putting JL's year 3 record and 1-10 road record up as proof this guy was the answer for BU after 9 years of, well, an absolute miracle NCAA run and a couple more eieio tourney post season W's .... which all occurred after his 4th year at BU....

OK, I have ranted enough, and, got everyone hot and bothered again.... back to the Pick Em Contest.

And please, remember this is a fan forum and it would be totally boooooooring if everyone followed the company line that JL should have been coach forever at BU.... Even you all admitted he should have been given only one more year to do better than 2009-10 debacle.... Not like he was run out of town on a rail after his year 3....

Ooops, looks like I started to rant again. Sorry.... passive aggressive diagnosis.... we p/a's are a pain in the gargoyle

Sorry you seem to have misunderstood me and my post. Let me state this again for the record. I do not want Jim Les here as coach. I think he should have been given another year after the 2010-11 season, and even Mike Cross said his firing was not judged on anything that happened that year.
But he is long gone, and we are all over his firing, and do not want him hired back. For people to constantly suggest I or anyone wants that is absurd. I am like thousands of other Bradley fans supporters, and donors who don't like losing, and don't like being the laughing stock of the MVC, which we have become.
We just want a winning program again. Whatever criticisms anyone has about the last era (didn't win enough, never higher than 4th, only 1 NCAA, no MVC championships, etc), at least we were a winning program, and not a laughingstock. Nobody can deny we have taken a giant step backward.
I simply stated what I believe to be facts. You did not appear to actually dispute any of those facts, and instead tried to read between the lines and suggest I am saying something totally different, which is not the case. And I am not the one who keeps bringing up Jim Les. The anti-JL people are ones who keep doing it as some kind of delusional justification for why it's acceptable for us to be as bad as we are right now.
Nobody has yet attempted to answer these simple questions that tons of fans have. I have been criticized in the past and told we need to give things 3 or 4 years. Well, we are now nearing the end of the 3rd year, so now by their own definition, it is fair to expect answers to these simple questions.
                  >Where have we shown any signs of improvement in any areas? Isn't anyone keeping notes?
                  >What reason does any fan have to believe this will get any better? Or will it turn into another situation like baseball, and other sports where losing appears to become acceptable and is rewarded.
                  >Where are the signature wins of the last 3 seasons?
                  >What examples are there of players improving?
                  >Why can't we schedule better? This year's SOS could end up hurting us even in a bad year.
                  >Why do we get beat by teams with talent that is not any better than ours?
                  >And if it is lack of talent, why can't we correct that after spending hundreds of millions of dollars on new facilities, and massively higher salaries and recruiting budgets?
                  >Why have there been so many recruiting mistakes?
                  >Why doesn't the loss of thousands of loyal fans and donors seem to concern anyone?

Those seem to be legit questions DC??¦

I'm sure the loss of fans concerns everyone but like alot of things we all may have different views as to why and how to get them back??¦

the recruiting mistakes seems to be the biggest one to me??¦that might take care of a couple of the other questions
