    Who said I was satisfied?

I'm not going to argue with you DC......maybe change the board name to bradleygripe.com........

Wait a minute, isn't that what landed so many good poster's on another board? Criticizing losing and what brought us to this woeful state. Are we being a little bit hypocritical?

The very reason we will be fine in my opinion is that this community still supports the BU athletic program, and they always will. Times are tough so cutting back on watching a average team is an easy decision. When they start winning, attendance will go up. That was a bad decision made by the staff, deal with it.

Don't blame Geno, he's doing fine considering everything. This team has improved since the season started and the program has improved since Geno arrived, and that's coming from a LES fan. Geno is a good coach, deal with that too.

I just wonder if anyone will say... or admit being wrong when he has success ?

I doubt it, its more fun to complain.

Bans were for criticizing other posters. That has always been against the rules. Maybe that is a concept that isn't easy to distinguish.

Geno has 1 more year to "have success" IMO.

"Geno has 1 more year to "have success" IMO."

define success...better than this year, top 5 mvc, final 4, that's a pretty broad statement.....

IMO...he has already had success from the improvement I have seen.

Success is in the eye of the beholder. People that want him to be successful will say that anything is success (usually by saying "I just want to see improvement"), while people that want him to fail will say that everything is a failure (they will say "Championship or bust"). The goalposts are moving all over the place.

This is year 3. We should have more than one player, Pickett, that Geno has recruited who is a major contributor by now. We shouldn't be seeing attendance shrink so low that it wouldn't even sell out the old Fieldhouse. We shouldn't see our student band outnumber the amount of students in the student section. We shouldn't see badly planned in game promotions or award prizes to people who didn't win them. And whatever happened to the 50/50 drawings? We shouldn't be hearing from our head coach at the 3/4 mark of the season that we're young. We shouldn't be in a position where we could be playing in the play in game at Arch Madness for the 4th straight year. If we don't get some serious improvement from the non seniors it won't matter who we bring in. The one thing we have going for us is that there are 7 teams who are struggling just like us so the chances for us to not be playing on Thursday aren't bad. I will always support BU, just like the Cubs and Bears, no matter what. I'll be in St. Louis to watch them play. At least the Cubs, I hope, and the Bears, if they get a defense, have some kind of positive future. I don't think I can say the same thing for the Braves yet.

To me, MVC Championships are the ultimate definition of success and being in contention for them year in and year out means you are doing something positive. I believe winning would fix a majority of our issues, so that??™s why every loss hits so hard. Outside of Wichita this year, the MVC has been horrible. Does anyone know if it will be any better next year?

It's hard to predict accurately what next year will be like. Some past years it may have been easier to predict improvement because most of the top players were underclassmen. But this year, the majority of the top players are seniors. The most notable exceptions are the MVC's leading scorer sophomore D.J. Balentine, and the top rebounder UNI's Seth Tuttle, a junior. But the other players who will be the top considerations for All MVC are seniors like Walt Lemon, Cleanthony Early, Jake Odum, Richard Carter, Jarmar Gulley, Desmar Jackson, and maybe Tyshon Pickett.
The other way to try to guess is to look at each team individually. Here is my take on each team-
Wichita State loses a couple key seniors in Early and Tekele Cotton. They'll still be very good, but IMO, even with an impressive recruiting class, they will not be as good as they are this season.
Indiana State loses seniors Odum, Arop, Cummings, and Eitel, so I don't see how they will be as good as they are this year. They do not have an impact recruiting class either.
The rest of the league are all pretty mediocre or worse this year, so some teams may improve a little next year, but it probably won't be a great enough improvement to move the MVC higher in conference RPI. I expect Missouri State, SIU, and Loyola all to hold steady or improve a little as they are young teams under new coaches and have a stable returning core and decent recruits.
Drake loses a lot with Van Deest, Richard Carter, Aaron Hawley, and Gary Ricks. Though I am impressed with Drake Coach Ray Giacoletti's recruiting class, Drake will still not be very good and will be picked near the bottom in next season's preseason poll
Illinois State and Evansville both return their entire rosters, plus some additions and thus may improve a little.
UNI doesn't lose much either, so they could be similar or slightly better. But I don't see any of these lower 9 MVC teams busting out and being a Top 50 team or maybe not even a top 100 team next year.
So, overall, I would predict the MVC to be a 1-bid conference again next year, and not significantly better than this year, maybe even a little drop-off due to losing so many top seniors.
A lot depends on newer players coming into the MVC next year. But I don't see that the overall quality of incoming recruits is as good as it has been in many past years. Wichita State has five 3-star recruits, but all the other 9 teams combined only have a couple recruits that are rated that high.
If any team can surprise people and improve more than expected, the opportunity is there for someone to jump into the 2nd place slot.

I avoided commenting on where Bradley will be next year. We have all commented plenty on that. But I don't see any way we can overcome the loss of several key seniors with the roster as it looks right now for 2014-15.

Thanks for the correction. I knew I'd get someone wrong. I checked their roster and saw the " Sr." after Coleby's name and mistook it for Cotton.
