  • 4 MVC games Wed. 2/12

There are 4 MVC games tonight Feb. 12-
Live scores for NCAAM games on February 12, 2014 on ESPN. Includes box scores, video highlights, play breakdowns and updated odds.

Also scheduled tonight was a big ACC game between Duke and North Carolina, but the 1 inch of snow they got in the last 24 hours has paralyzed the area, and made it impossible for Duke to travel the insurmountable distance of 8 miles to the North Carolina campus, so the game has been called off.

Epic collapse by Evansville. One of the all-time greatest.

Somehow, UE regrouped in OT to win after a total meltdown the final few minutes of regulation.

Illinois State trailed by 25 points with under 12 minutes left, but then scored in bunches as Evansville went cold. ISU actually lead a couple times in the final minute, but then Evansville tied it and won it in overtime. 4 of the Redbirds fouled out, and Balentine scored 38 points, and shot something like 20-25 from the FT line.

            UE beats ISU
            Missouri State beats Drake
UNI clobbers Loyola - Milton Doyle just 2 pts

            Illinois is losing at Nebraska
Indiana loses at home to Penn State - and to think some people had them ranked early on! - they are now 4-7 in the Big Ten

BU is 6-7 in the MVC

The cumulative league record of the 6 teams we have beaten is 29-49 and not one of the six has a winning league record.
The record of the seven teams we have lost to is 56-34....
we seem only to be able to beat the weaker teams at the bottom end of the MVC --
Last year lots was made of the increase in the number of wins even tho it was mostly due to the far weaker schedule.
This year you can count on the bragging point being how close we were to 3rd or 4th place when every MVC team from 3rd or 4th on down will be a sub-.500 ball club with a 200 RPI.
Obviously some fans seem to be duped into thinking this is fulfilling the promises made by Dr. Cross to be regularly competing for championships, but the thousands of fans who are gone from those (empty) seats know better - they are being duped with poor play being called good play and a really weak schedule & Valley.

All I know is our record says who we are... around .500 what's so different about that in the past? Still no championships or even close to one same as in the past

We were promised this team would be competing for championships. We are paying our coach way more than anyone else in the league other than Marshall. This team is very disappointing, and tons of fans see that. Maybe some can be happy by constantly bringing up the past. But right now most fans would take those 20+ win seasons and RPI's 1/4 to 1/2 of where we are now.

those home crowds of 10K and 11K (that were here just 3-4 years ago) had some reason to show up that is obviously no longer present - the reason was winning...finishing in the upper half of the league, going to the post-season -- even a Sweet 16 and some exciting talent on the floor.
It obviously wasn't good enough for those who wanted a makeover & believed it was easy to do better so they threw the baby out with the bathwater and now here we stand looking at a long, long rebuild...
