Wichita State hangs on for the win 78-67 to go to 26-0.
SIU played very well, but faded in the last 3 minutes. Anthony Beane continued his great play lately. He had 25 points, but was not good down the stretch.
Fred Van Vleet had only 3 points, and his only basket came with less than 90 seconds left when he got a breakaway, mostly because SIU was crashing the offensive boards.

I just saw on the Valley web site (mvc.org) that the BU/Wichita game has been moved to ESPN 2 on the 25th at 8PM. I hope we bring it that night, like we haven't brought it before.
WSU may be feeling the pressure….seems like their games are getting closer all the time ….I admit I like watching them play though….
They are really enjoyable to watch especially how hard they play for 40 minutes. From this point on every game for Wichita's opposition will be their Super Bowl. Their next 2 games are on the road in Evansville and at Loyola. The Aces don't have enough firepower other than Balentine and Loyola turns the ball over too much. Still say they are looking more beatable than earlier in the year but if they keep getting 5 guys in double figure every game they'll be tough for anybody to beat.
Wichita sure went to the FT line a lot - way more than SIU and most of SIU's key players were in foul trouble or fouled out - funny reading some of the SIU board comments - that this was the plan to help WSU stay undefeated and get a #1 seed - we'll see...

And Butler lost at home to Xavier to go to 2-10 in their new conference. They are the only team in the Big East with a worse record than DePaul.
Really tough to not have an off night in 25 straight games...Shocks maybe feeling a litttle pressure - yes...only natural.
They are not a great shooting team, which works against them if they have an off-night.
Last few games have been "off nights" for the Shockers, just not this off for the whole game. They may be wearing down and starting to lose focus as they start to set their sights on March Madness. Couldn't be a better time to get them at home.

Wichita Head Coach Gregg Marshall making the rounds at ESPN today. Appeared on the Michael Wilbon/Tony Kornhizer show PTI and was asked about him rubbing people the wrong way. Marshall basically said he wasn't concerned. He also said "I'm will just be myself. Only people I need to please are my family, my school and my team." Marshall will also be on Sportscenter and at halftime of the Syracuse/Pittsburgh game. Marshall also while they want to go undefeated the teams focus is on their next game at Evansville. While they have looked beatable in the last few games it's still going to be tough to do it.
