I don't know what Propel does really....actually I thought they were connected to the Journal Star....Nelligan and/or Learfield's responsibility is to bring more revenue through sponsorships,TV, Radio, etc.....but not selling tickets. Having the attendance would help them with their job for sure but it doesn't fall into their responsibility....that part is still on BU

I think the Learfield deal will be a good one for us in the long run

By the way, I notice only 19 of Bradley's points came from players who could be back next year. Not looking real good for the epic rebuild that Kirk says is coming.
Here is your roster for next year's Braves. Good luck.
      Ka'Darryl Bell
      Auston Barnes
      Chris Blake
      Anthony Fields
      Darrion Harris
      Jordan Swopshire
      Mike Shaw
      Xzavier Taylor
      Omari Grier
      Stefan Zecevic
      Nate Wells
      Tramique Sutherland
      Donte Thomas?
      Macari Brooks?
take a good look at your proposed roster for next year. There is NO WAY in H-ll that is the roster you will see and that's a beer bet at the CC. You can book it. Anywhere from 2 to 4 players on that list WILL NOT be on it this summer.

I run into fans every day who see how bad Bradley is playing and tell me they just aren't coming any more - but then, someone else posts they never hear such fans....
well, open your eyes and look -- up 'til this year a home crowd of 6000 was unheard of!
in 30 years of play downtown in Carver Arena we never had a crowd like that...
NOW - it's commonplace -- this is the 13th home crowd this year in the 5000's or 6000's
and EIGHT have been 6400 or less, with SEVEN of 6200 or less! Unprecedented - historically bad home attendance.
Amazing to me that when we lose the posts are twice than when we win. The argument that we are so playing so terrible and the fact we are 1 game below .500 in league play and are tied for a position in standings where we always seemed to finish in the past not make sense to me. Last year we were in post play and finished over .500. So if performance has not changed what has?

How are you going to pay up when you are in Florida all the time?

Funny how every single thing that happens always happens to fall within each person's agenda, and is spun in that way. When someone is so obsessed with proving their thesis that absolutely everything they say somehow, either directly or passive aggressively, strives to prove that thesis, that person loses beaucoup credibility. It shows that they cannot look at an issue with honest eyes.

If Walt was the best player on the floor last night, I'll be a monkey's uncle. Prosser, although not perfect, played the best compared to his ceiling. Bell was ok. We had fouling issues, FT issues, 3pt shooting issues, just all in all a bad game. I'll give em that as we have been playing pretty well. Let's see how we respond against ISU.

Last night was clunky from the start, 15 minutes before gametime and the place was a morgue, lucky for us the 47%ers came out of the wine room long enough to make it just a regular poorly attended game.

Not actually selling tickets, but if they do their job people will buy tickets. You know that.

So you criticize others for posting their own opinions and label them as "each person's agenda", and "spun", and suggest that they are "so obsessed with proving their thesis that absolutely everything they say somehow, either directly or passive aggressively, strives to prove that thesis, that person loses beaucoup credibility. It shows that they cannot look at an issue with honest eyes."

But then you do exactly the same thing- you post an opinion framed by your own biases and agenda. Do you claim to be the sole and ultimate authority on "honest eyes"?

The fact is that some here accurately predicted this team was not "better by a light year or two", and contrary to our journalists claims, we did not have a boatload of impact players, we did not in fact have a "stellar recruiting class" that was comparable to the best recruiting classes in the last 25 years, and that the recruiting had not solved the team's obvious shooting and point guard deficiencies, and that the claim of vastly improved depth was nowhere near true.

In fact, if we are going to try to judge who's "agenda" or "spin" is more "honest" or accurate, I think the answer, much to the dismay of some, is pretty obvious.

You guys have your mind made up I guess.....I've gone over this but you choose to ignore it.....Their job isn't to get attendance to the games...That is Bradley's job. Their job is to bring in revenue through sponsorships, TV, and radio......it's not their job to promote BU so people will go..

you think if they sell a sponsorship to OSF people will buy tickets because of it?

Anything that raises interest in Bradley I think would help attendance. Just my opinion. Obvious you are more involved with the University and know more what's happening than most of us on this board.

Besides this team's poor shooting, low basketball IQ, and lack of Div I talent, and a lack of progress from last year, makes me think of other problems:
                      1) how much we are paying our head coach and assistants and the return on investment
                      2) how poorly the Bradley administration handled the dispute of salary owed to the former coach, Les and the attorney fees associated with it.
                      3) more money and attorney fees associated with the lawsuit with Kent State.
                      4) the lack of having Anthony Parker and Chet Walker say a few words to the crowd when presented to the crowd at half time at the Renaissance Coliseum last season and this season. It looked awkward both times when they were standing on the floor
                      5) how much money has been spent on the new facilities with little return on investment
                      6) how much money is being spent with the marketing firms with little return
                      7) how many season ticket holders have been lost
                      7) how many season ticket holders are not even attending games this season and will be lost next season
how few students are attending games and the lack of a response to try to get more students attending.

I realize that winning will solve or lesson the pain of some of these issues, but I think the Board of Directors will have to address these problems soon.

nope - again - let me say this one more time - every program to where our staff gets run off to is setting all time records for attendance and revenue...

-FGCU is doing great - their attendance is up 100% and they're about to clinch their 2nd conference title..oh, and btw- they were in the Sweet 16 and are cashing in on it unlike our people were able to do..

-despite a little down year currently, Mo had WIU setting attendance records and winning their conference last season...they have one of the midwest's best young freshmen in Covington

-Jim Platt landed at SLU - they are ranked and doing great with attendance & sellouts - not claiming he is fully responsible but they sure haven't tanked their home attendance like some

-Alvin Brooks landed at SFA & now Kansas State - both doing great - SFA winning their conference for 2nd consec year & K-State coming off a BIG 12 Championship just knocked off Top 10 ranked Kansas on national TV

-wanna hear about UCD - they have been hit hard with injuries but doing ok - getting a nationally televised game and setting home attendance records - plus they have everyone back next year

-SIUE?? Yup - they too are doing better than they ever have in all their history in D-I - just won the most wins in any season ever, att. is up - and everyone on the team is back next year

-you are wrong about the attendance slide at BU "spreading" - Missouri State, SIU, Indiana State and other MVC schools are now drawing 6000 and headed upwards while we are drawing 5000-6000 and heading rapidly downwards....
BU historicall always ranked in the Top 40 50 D-I programs in attendance - now we've slipped past the 60's, 70's and even 80's and are about to drop behind even ISU and other MVC schools
the marketing ploys to try to get new season ticketholders will not work if for every new one they bring in they run 2 or 3 lifelong and SOLID Bradley fans & season tickethholders out...

maybe but if a program's revenues and attendance both double in just a 1-2 year span - someone's doing something right
