extremely poor shooting and inability to score - shades of what's to come with WL, Jr. gone

we killed ourself removing our better players every time they pick up a foul...
in the end Xzavier, Barnes, and Walt all finish with just 3 fouls but were absent during critical stretches when we could have used them...
BARNES missed the final 13 minutes of the 1st half and XT missed the final eight min....sitting with two fouls...

Barnes went out when we were UP 7 - then by the time he plays again we are DOWN 7 - a 14-point swing --
I think he's gotta play during that stretch even if you risk him getting his 3rd foul....I think the facts as they played out clearly show it cost us a 14-point swing sitting our 2nd best scorer and finishing the half with just 7 points in those final 13 minutes of the 1st half.

in that 7-8 min span when XT sat - we went from up 3 to down 7 - same argument --

NOT to mention they were 25-32 from the FT line we were 9-17 - the refs blew the whistle just exactly as I predicted would happen to assure the MVC has the best chance of an extra bid -- obviously people more powerful than BU's fans would want to see InSU win this game.

          seniors

There 2 seniors were a lot better than ours tonight in all aspects of the game. Walt played out of control again at times and still gets 22 points a lot of those points were garbage time points at the end when they quit guarding the lane to guard the 3.Walt took 20 shots tonight while struggling from the field! Tyshon played better in the second half. Prosser finally a somewhat productive game for him after all these years.. Odum 27 points is a very good senior never missed a free throw and just makes great decisions! Good solid ball player. Arop had 7 boards and 12 points.

Just an awful game all around.

            Bradley played awful.
Our Free Throw shooting was awful.
Indiana State played awful (outside of Odum). 18 Turnover's,
The Refs were awful. (What else is new?)
The crowd was pretty awful. Most of the game, you could've heard a pin drop, except on Prosser's and 1. I'm including myself in that. Just a tough game to get excited about with the bad basketball that was being played.

This is a game we could've/should've won. If we played like we did on Sunday, we would've won. It's frustrating that as bad as we played, we only lost by 6. If we played even a decent game, we win. 53% from the FT line is unacceptable.

I'm incredibly frustrated with this team after this game, because I know they can play better than this, but what I (and everyone else) needs to remember is this is one game, and it's a loss against the 2nd best team in the conference. Thursday is not an inevitability at this stage, and we got some help from Evansville tonight (even though they almost blew it). If we can go 2-1 on the road, and 1-1 at home the rest of the way, we'll be in decent enough shape. To be honest, I'd rather be the 6 seed than the 4 or 5 seed at this stage, to avoid WSU in St. Louis as long as possible.

yup??¦if Walt has any kind of game tonight??¦we win. Poor shot selection, terrible team IQ, OG, WL, and TP took the most shots and shot poorly??¦.along with 52% form the line??¦..Odom was the difference for sure tonight

                no better than 4th....

very dismal crowd - 6302 - disappointing since this was a chance to be alone in 3rd place with a win - we do NOT have a single MVC win over a team with a winning league record.

Poor shooting - 37% overall, 30% from the arc, only 53% from the FT line

give him credit - Prosser played a fine game off the bench - Pickett played well but missed a lot of shots early on

The real key was the way the game was called -
one particular play...Odum gets fouled deep on the baseline then a couple seconds after the whistle - tosses the ball backwards over his head almost as if being silly with a goofy shot - but the ref then awards the foul IN THE ACT and gives him TWO shots even before he would have gotten the bonus...

Later when Walt makes a shot while being fouled the same ref disallows the shot and calls the foul on the floor.

maybe??¦.easy to say now??¦if Barnes goes and picks up hi 3rd one quick then everyone wonders why he's in there.

Odom was the difference tonight. Walt was horrendous

well - I would qualify that the crowd was small and a lot of fans just aren't coming any more -- those who were present did everything they could and are good fans....
I run into fans every day who see how bad Bradley is playing and tell me they just aren't coming any more - but then, someone else posts they never hear such fans....
well, open your eyes and look -- up 'til this year a home crowd of 6000 was unheard of!
in 30 years of play downtown in Carver Arena we never had a crowd like that...
NOW - it's commonplace -- this is the 13th home crowd this year in the 5000's or 6000's
and EIGHT have been 6400 or less, with SEVEN of 6200 or less! Unprecedented - historically bad home attendance.

T disagree with just about everything you put in your post.
1.) Can't wait till Walt's gone. If I had to watch what he put on the floor tonight for one more year I'd quit coming. That was pathetic to say the least.
2.) Pulling Walt XT and AB when they fouled didn't lose the game ,it's what they did when those 3 were on the floor is what cost us the game along with Bell and Omari.
3.) You must not have been at the game if you think those refs cost us the game. They were not the best crew I've seen this year but lets be honest ,they didn't miss 8 Ft's or shoot the ball like grade schooler's. Our guards were 7 for mostly forced 20 and 3 for 14 and your blaming the refs???? Whoa Oh by the way those refs work more than the MV so why in the hell would they care how many teams we get in the big dance. Besides anyone who knows anything about basketball knows the ONLY way we're getting 2 in is if someone knocks off WSU in St.L.
4.) In case you haven't seen it this year ,looked pretty much like Dec basketball to me. 4 stand while one guy dribbles ,dribbles and dribbles some more b4 throwing up a piece of garbage or throwing it away. So hard to watch. Coaches used to take players out when they played like that but not here.
5.) Last bullet. Put money on the Cubs to win the WS. I think hell is freezing over and JP was by far the best player in a BU uniform tonight. Good game JP we missed ya.

I counted 18 students attending tonight's game. Of course, cheerleaders, the band, student workers, and the athletes who were awarded at half-time more than tripled the 18 students behind the basket.

3 things.. the better team won tonight...... Indiana State does not win with out Jake Odum..Bradley caught up with him out then they went back ahead when he came back in.... they had very good ball movement...We had none..
                          Is that coaching?

Walt (who btw is still playing a position he never played before his 2nd year of college) was out for just a couple minutes each half - when he was, we ran 35 seconds, looking totally lost and couldn't find anyone who even knew what a shot is...
If you're looking forward to Walt being gone, then please stick around long enough next year to admit you were incredibly wrong...but not likely as the rest of the home fan base is disappearing faster than talk of global warming

did someone in a white jersey have any better game...
Walt had 22 pts, 4 rebs, 2 asst, FIVE STEALS, and every time he was out of the game for even 2 minutes, there was a 4 or 5 point swing in favor if the Sycamores.....
Not to mention every time we got down 5 or 7 Walt sparked the comeback

but even if you want to claim he had a BAD game then --
...my point exactly - Walt has to have a good game every time out as there's no chance of anyone else on the roster picking up and carrying us...
He's our money player and nobody else can step in -
if this is year three and we have NOBODY that can help Walt one iota, and we're drawing tiny home crowds that just 3 years ago were UNIMAGINABLE...then are you gonna try to blame it all on Walt Lemon?
