  • Nelligan sells out

The marketing firm that Bradley has contracted with, Nelligan Sports, has sold to Learfield Sports

"..Nelligan .. has 41 collegiate properties in its portfolio .....
Those contracts will now be run by Learfield .."

this could be a good thing as Learfield is bigger, has greater resources, employs nearly five times the workforce....

Learfiled represents schools that are mostly concentrated in the midwest and west and include most of the Big Ten schools, and several MVC schools, as well as the MVC office itself. Nelligan represented fewer schools, mostly smaller or midmajor schools, and was mostly concentrated in the East.

    Here are the Learfield schools-
LEARFIELD is proud to represent colleges & universities, conferences and arenas all across the country that look to us to manage their brand

    And the Nelligan schools-

Here is an article that also suggests this is a good thing for schools that were previously clients of nelligan-

From what I understand TJ Nelligan wasn't in it for the long haul so this isn't a huge surprise and is a good move for them and their clients

It means that they dont take a personal interest in us. It is just a business. They dont have a passion, drive or desire like we do. It is just figures and dollars

Maybe TJ took his money and got out while the getting was good?

with the amount of money always being mentioned in college sports - then it must be a very high demand business...

wonder whose idea this is.....maybe shoulda done it sooner given the paltry crowds -
discounting tickets and adding special promos ....would this be a Laerfield suggestion?
PEORIA, Ill. -- Fans purchasing tickets for Bradley Basketball's final two 2013-14 regular-season home games will have the opportunity to receive a free seat upgrade at the time of purchase.

BTW - that final game vs. Wichita State - watch for some historically weird things to be happening there as the Shox go for major national publicity with an undefeated MVC season - something I think the league, Doug Elgin, and plenty of others would really love to see happen.....
As they head down their stretch run - note the huge foul disparity in their recent games...with the Shockers' opponents frequently getting whistled for 30, 40, and even 67 percent more fouls than Wichita State!!! Just sayin'.....you decide.....

                          I doubt it.

I like the idea of discounting ticket prices. They have ben way too high this year. Lower bowl tickets on Ticketmaster at over $60 each! Do they sell any of those at that ridiculous price?
So I like this promotion, but why do people have to go to a website, download a voucher, fill it out with personal information (name, email address) then physically take the voucher and make a separate trip to the Renaissance Coliseum ticket office for the seat upgrade? It makes it hard for anyone to take advantage of this promotion. That is such an inconvenience for me, that I'd just as soon pay the extra for the upgraded ticket than take the time and effort to get the promotion. It would be nice if this promotion was available on Ticketmaster, or at the door.
From PJ Star sports expert Kirk Wessler in his Jan. 10, 2012 column following 8th loss in a row at Drake-
"Yes, the Braves are better than they were when the season started two months ago. By a light year or two, they??™re better."

And from the PJ Star 4/26/12, Dave Reynolds-
"Fields and Grier both appear to be difference makers. If Bradley continues to add the right players around them, happy days may be ahead for the Braves after a long dry spell."

Learfield buys out another one of their smaller competitors...and now assume media rights for UW-Milwaukee, Drexel, George Mason, James Madison, Fordham, Radgord, North Dakota, and a few other schools
