This is a puzzling commit.

I'm not sure how this helps the Redbirds. Most people that I've heard that have seen him play say he's a poor player. I have never seen him play, but I haven't heard much good about him.

I am not sure what to make of this. I hope he turns out to be a decent contributor, but I am always skeptical of transfers.

Everything I have heard-- he knows the game, he's smart and at least against high school defenses, he could shoot.
But he sure hasn't shown the same ability in college yet.
His 3-pt accuracy was in the mid-40% range in high school, but here's something that all the reports on Odzic seem to fail to mention.

Odzic did play one full season at Southern California.
He played in 30 games as a freshman, even started five games, and averaged a healthy 15.5 minutes a game.

His overall performance (allowing that he was a freshman) was at best unimpressive, and at worst was dismal, which is probably why the coached talked Odzic into a pretty unprecedented redshirt sophomore year despite playing his full freshman year.

In that frosh year he only averaged 3 points per game, and shot 33% overall from the floor, and a weak 31% from 3-point range on 22 for 71 attempts.
He also tended to foul a lot and played pretty mild defense by all reports I have heard.
Maybe he can be a force at the mid-major level, and I am sure that's what Odzic and Moser are counting on.
If he was a big time D-I prospect ISU wouldn't have a chance and someone like Butler, Northwestern, or Gonzaga would have called him. But his talent is probably low mid-major at best.
(be cautious when reading "scouting reports" and "internet reports" as these are influenced by who you know and who you pay).
If this kid had gone to Lehigh he still might have been asked to redshirt, but that's he chance PM will have to take.
Time will tell.

This recruit would seem to make it less likely Matt Roth would consider ISU. They are the same type of player (Odzic and Roth), and Odzic will have 2 years of eligibility left when Roth begins his college career.
