Right now, we are in year 3 of GF's term at BU. A poor memory indicates that was comparable to year 3 of another 'great' coach's term at BU...
Right now, continuing to win and win on the road are my main interests for BU. Could care less about DR's tone/opinion or the great anguish many had over the best coach in BU history having been let go after 9 years of 4th place.
When someone fed us kool aid for 9 years (I envision championships - many), best big man ever recruited, best recruiting class ever, BU on the verge, etc. many on this Forum ate that up. Me included.
Every preseason I bought the promise, bought the "great" recruiting classes, bought the buy in promise, only to throw up kool aid at the end of another dismal MVC season, except, of course, one season, when kool aid provided a high better than narcotics ever could.
After having listened to a head coach say every bad loss was on him, and there were many, listened post game how he couldn't understand/remedy his team's inability to compete for 9 years, I decided to hang my hat on a new head coach and am prepared to give him 5 instead of 9 years, unless of course, BU can make another miracle run from 4th place in the MVC to two wins in the Dance.... We can revisit this topic at the end of the 2015-16 season....
BTW Has BU lost to UMKC yet under Ford?
I agree in giving Geno 5 years??¦..unless this year and next are both disasters

Geno is giving 100%, as did Jim Les, and both of them have forgotten more about D1 coaching than any of us will ever know. At some point, with both regimes, it falls on the effort and eventual ceiling of the players, which is hard to predict.
The G&P AZBUFan was only responding to an earlier blast on the past re how times have changed vis a vis 4th place..and part of the 'everyone' who "hated the previous staff and wanted them run out of town on a rail"

I do not think it is Geno's fault I think anybody who is the coach still ultimately in influenced by the president, her ego and, micromanagement
That is why a former AD left he could see the handwriting on the wall

What good will 1st or 2nd place be in a terrible league without Creighton or Wichita State?
Can't wait for the morons to cheer that 16 seed and one and done in the tourney. But wait we finished higher than 4th omg!!!
Az... The sweet 16 wasn't a miracle run at all... That team was extremely good, not lucky or miraculous. They finished 4th that year bc the valley was the toughest top to bottom it has ever been. The valley should have gotten 6 teams in that year.
Yay cant wait for that 3rd place finish and 225 rpi, it's all I've been dreaming of!!

you only have so much control how the conference falls out...so if you get 1st that's the best you can do in the conference..
I think the way we had played a good share of the SS year it was a miracle finish......nobody was predicting a Sweet Sixteen.....
you make it sound like a one and done in the NCAA is no big deal.....we have been in the tournament twice in the last 25 years.......I would take a few one and dones in the next 5 years
