but if you have to go so far back to the Antoine Carr or Greg Dreiling eras, then I think my point is pretty strong...
first that not many solid big men ever seem to land in the MVC..
then second - a large number of them (more specifically a lot of our big guys) even when they have promise have not developed year by year - often less productive as seniors than as freshmen and sophomores.
(Jordan Prosser was at one time a 4-Star and Top 3 rated in Illinois and got interest from Indiana, Illinois, & Kentucky)

Yes, Greg Dreiling did spend time in the NBA. Maurice Evans is another former WSU player that transferred and finished his college career elsewhere (Texas), then went on to the NBA.

McDaniel and Livingston were two I was thinking about. I just can't think of the other player's name. You know what they say about growing old and memory.

I remember that guy must have been at least 6'10", overweight, and not the best practice habits. He lasted for a few years, usually on the bench, just because he was that big in an era of much smaller players. However, he never amounted to anything special. I seem to recall he might have played for the Clippers, it figures, at some point in time and seldom made it off the bench.

It was no big deal. I just had not realized the conversation was limited to the last 10 or 15 years.

Here are all the players attributed to Wichita State that ever played in the NBA-

The list does not include Greg Dreiling or Maurice Evans, since they left WSU before they completed their college careers.

Yes, Bradley has, by far, the most players who have played in the NBA of any MVC school, including Creighton. That list does not include Danny Granger, since he finished his college career elsewhere.

My bad. I looked through some of the MVC teams and found out Benoit Benjamin, Creighton, was the individual I was thinking about.

Benoit Benjamin was a fine college big man - although never enjoyed great success in the NBA -
He may be the last MVC player to ever leave college early for the NBA prior to POB...
but that's going back 30+ years - back when extremely FEW colleges had a big man anywhere close to 7-feet tall.

                      X makes me drool!

4 -6 from the floor 6 of 7 from the line.

                      11 boards

                      2 blocks!

Thats 16 Blocks for the yr. Thats only .6 a game but can someone run block per min? If he gets 2 a gm the rest of the way he will have 28 for the yr and be on pace going into his soph yr for 112ish blocks for his run w/ the braves.

Heres to keeping the beast on the court hes consistently looking like IMO the best big man in the MVC!

I'm encouraged by his staying in the game as long as he did. I believe he would have to show the same control in future games to average 2 blocks a game. I hope he does but history would indicate more problems to come this year.

I hope that next year he can curtail the fouls as Pickett has done in his second year at Bradley.
