Here's an article speculating if Wichita State might be the best MVC team ever...
Obviously this writer seems only able to think back a few years...
first - there was an MVC team last year that went to the Final Four - but obviously there have been a few MVC teams that were even better...
The Louisville teams of the 70's with Wes Unseld, the Cincy (won the National Championship two consecutive years) and Bradley teams of the 60's, and Bradley teams of the late 40's & 50's (twice the national runnerup)
Then there was Oklahoma A&M that won the National Championship TWO consecutive years ('45 & '46)
Only six teams have ever won back to back and the MVC had two of them!
Wichita is good but their lack of depth would be very evident if they played in the Big Ten or Big 12 - and we'll see that this March.
