Bradley's next game is a road game at Evansville on Sunday, at 1:00 PM. The game will be on the MVC-TV Network.

Bradley is now 8-12, and 3-4 in the MVC. They are 0-8 away from home (0-6 in true road games, and 0-2 on neutral courts). Evansville is 9-11, and 2-5 in MVC games. They are 7-4 at home, but just 1-2 in home MVC games.

Evansville's leading scorer is sophomore D.J. Balentine at 22.0 ppg. He is also the leading scorer in the MVC. But in MVC games only, the leading scorer is Bradley's Walt Lemon (see stats below). Balentine is the only Evansville player who averages more than averages more than 9.1 ppg. They shoot the three point shot pretty well at 39.5% (best in the MVC), compared to Bradley's 30.5% (9th in the MVC).

Just checked my "guide" on my dish network, and it shows the game on both fox sport's Midwest and Chicago sports net. Hope its right!

Yes, that is correct. The MVC-TV Network games appear on:
FOX Sports Midwest (St. Louis)
FOX Sports Indiana (Indianapolis)
FOX Sports Kansas City
Comcast SportsNet Chicago
and FOX College Sports

There may be exceptions if there are other games those networks have contracts with such as Bulls and Blackhawks games in Chicago, Blues games in St. Louis, or Pacers games in Indianapolis, but most of the MVC games will be on those networks.

It is a great opportunity to get a road win. I don't think Bradley has had a road win this season.

That is correct. Bradley is 8-4 at home (3-1 in MVC), 0-6 in true road games (0-3 in MVC), and 0-2 in neutral site games (the Las Vegas games).
Bradley has lost the last 3 years in Evansville.

... in MVC games only, the leading scorer is Bradley's Walt Lemon ..

Walt has 347 points this year - averaging 17.4 ppg overall and 21.6 ppg in MVC play.

He has 1493 career points...and with a minimum of 12 games left to play and hopefully a couple more than that - Walt could end up in the 1750 range.

1621 would put him in the Top 10 and tie him with Andrew Warren for 10th
1689 would put him in 8th
1714 would be 7th
Joe Allen currently sits in 6th at 1763
and Paul Unruh is 5th with 1822

if he averages 24 ppg thru the end of the season he could hit 5th but the next guy on the list is Chet the Jet with 1975 - and Walt would have to average 30+ to get there

Going to the game?

Going to the game?

Is anyone coming down to Evansville for the game tomorrow afternoon? I'm thinking about heading up there from KY.

the next highest career scorers currently are...

Jordan Prosser 649
Tyshon Pickett 617
Omari Grier 383 (225 at Bradley)
Auston Barnes 170
Ka'Darryl Bell 150
Xavier Taylor 63
Anthony Fields 33
Mason Alwan 29
Jordan Swopshire 29
Chris Blake 27
Nate Wells 14
Stefan Zecevic 12

Unless TP or JP average 30 ppg they will not hit 1000 pts, and the only other one that even has a remote chance would be Omari if he averages double digits thru his senior season.

Thus when Walt Lemon finishes - we will have a span of several years before we start getting more 1000 pt scorers...
Since the year 2000 (Dye, Gilbert, Gillingham, Granger, Tucker, Ruffin, Cellus, Crouch, Warren, Maniscalco, Wilson, Taylor Brown, DSE, WE, now Walt...) we've had FIFTEEN players either hit the 1000 point career mark or come very close...but as we sit right now - we won't be seeing it again soon, and maybe not for several years...we've kinda hit a lull in scorers on the roster...

I wouldn't rule out Swop, XT, or even Stefan getting to 1000 either. A Lot of players develop a lot from year 1 to year 2. Remember, Walt only averaged about 6 points a game his freshman year, DSE only averaged about 5. Taylor Brown got to the 1000 point mark in only 3 years, since he had to sit out a year. I still see the potential, especially for X and maybe Swop, to become a good enough scorer to reach 1000 in their career. Once Walt and TP are gone, someone's going to have to pick up the slack scoring wise, and it can't all be Omari.

I expect "Mr. Hyde" to show up for the game and Bradley loses by 9.

Also expect "Jekyll" to show up for the next game and beat the Birds by 1.

:evil::razz::lol:

I suppose it's possible, nobody knows the future...but unless a kid at least scores a little as afreshman the prospects of scoing a bunch later is slim.
.... but I am looking at possibilities that I would consider reasonable...

I think one of the single most obvious facts we are seeing this season is that kids who are not good scorers in high school or juco do not become good scorers after they get to D-I.

I would love to see XT, Swop, & SZ score bunches but none of them were very big scorers at their last stops....in fact XT & SZ both scored in the single digits their final year in HS - while Swop - even in his best year in HS at Montrose, he scored about 12 ppg.

The Aces are giving Bradley plenty of chances to get back into this game....just cannot get an offensive flow of any kind! Need to value the ball much more!
