Lunardi has Wichita State as the only MVC team in the tournament, as a #2 seed. He also has 6 Big Ten teams, with Illinois and Indiana on the outside as the #7 and #8 teams in the Big Ten.

And CBS has Jerry Palm doing the same. here is his latest NCAA Bracket update-
CBS Sports is helping you get ready for March Madness with the latest news, picks, and predictions for the 2025 NCAA Basketball Tournament Bracket.

Palm also has only 1 MVC in the tournament, and he also has Wichita State as a #2 seed. But he does not show Illinois anywhere close to the tournament.

UIUC is NOWHERE close to the NCAA. Almost NO CHANCE. Win B10 Trny is about the only hope they have. I even believe their NIT chances are dying. Right now... seems likely they will finish with a 6-12 or 5-13 record in the B10... but if they are 4-14, which is not out of the question... they won't even get an NIT bid (or they might turn it down based on bad season and a poor seed going on the road at a mid-major first round in NIT). Doubt they would take a bid from a lesser tourney. So... their post-season hopes are just about dead.

But they can hang their hat on one thing this season... their biggest (largest margin of victory) was over Bradley.

Woah MM... Blast from the past...

Anyway, when was the last time an MVC team was in the running for a #1 seed and got a top 2 seed? It's got to have been quite a while...
