Really? Maybe "by a light year or two"?
I think Dave might have exaggerated a litttttle bit with that sentence. I don't fault the effort from our guys today. And that could be what Dave might be referring to. For the most part, except against UNI who own us, the last few games we are showing more effort. For this team that's huge as we have no offense to speak off. We have guys in position to shoot it who shouldn't be the ones shooting it. Geno said in the article that "Mason Alwan deserves to play. I'm at the point where I'm tired of playing guys who could be good who don't play well. So we're going to reward the guy that deserves it. If anything, I should be apologizing to Mason for not playing him more." If that was the case where was Mason at the end of the game when we needed shooters. When Mason did play a little in the 2nd half why didn't we run plays for him. Where does our execution in the last 5 minutes of a game go on both sides of the court. Too often we're leaving guys wide open from 3 point land, having that guys man be the one to stop the penetration down the lane instead of someone stepping up from the middle. Do we practice layups under pressure? Too many times we look like a chicken with its head cut off on offense. That's all on Geno. I think John McKay, who was a coach at Tampa Bay in the NFL in the 70's said it best when asked about his offenses execution. He simply said, "I'm in favor of it."

Who remembers the days that Zobrist would run his tail off like 10 screens to pop a shot and often hit a big three? I miss that hustle and will to win...

I love me some good coaching, hustle and basketball IQ. No excuses, we should plan to win them all...

Hell of an effort by the Braves yesterday. You always seem to make it close in Terre Haute. Here are the press conference clips. I think Geno will have you guys in the hunt in the future.

The Indiana State Sycamores stayed perfect in MVC play with a thrilling 62-59 home court victory over visiting Bradley in front of 5,545 fans inside Hulman Center.

we do a lot of standing around on offense - 34.5 seconds then a desperation long shot .. when we've at least tried to feed the ball down low, maybe we do get some turnovers but we force their interior guys to play a little defense and we get to the line sometimes...

            Here's a telling stat...
All of our BIG GUYS who play the "5" position COMBINED (Pross, Blake, XT, Wells) have gone to the FT line a total of just 48 times -
Most of the current big men in the MVC (Mockevicius, Thomas, Tuttle, Carter, vanDeest) have that many on their own and the better big men in recent years like Carmichael have way, way more...
...it reflects our inability to get the ball where most teams would clearly have the best chance to score.

No doubt we don't know how to get the ball into the post??¦we are poor passing team all the way around??¦??¦we have also seen alot of sagging zone which makes it a little tougher to get inside??¦??¦.

I agree> we are a terrible passing team overall. I saw passing yesterday that you see out of grade school teams. Throwing the ball at their feet, over their heads or off to the sides so far they have to stretch to catch it instead in rhythm with their movement.

Reynolds and Wessler are "spin masters" for the Queen Bee. It has been obvious since the day she took over as Madame President. Don't forget that after year 3 of the Les regime Wessler called for his firing. Year 4 the Braves went to the Sweet 16.

There cannot be two writers covering a major college basketball program less qualified than Reynolds and Wessler.

You are entitled to your opinion but for two guys so bad could you explain to us how both have received so many awards for their work. Not trying to change your mind just trying to understand where you're coming from.
Oh by the way ,there were a lot of people calling for Jim's job after year 3, not just KW.

Wessler was against JL from the day they hired him instead of his choice. Easy to see why JL didn't get along with the so-called sportswriter.

Some just like to make negative posts. I have no idea why

I think like all of us we are just tired of losing and want change. Bradley fans are not stupid, and all the cheerleading and pie-in-the-sky reports by the media isn't fooling anyone. Just go back and read all the promises and assurances this administration fed us in 2011. None of it has happened, and this year we have regressed significantly, despite the horrible schedule.

Fans want something positive to give hope things will turn around, but most intelligent fans can see there isn't much. I'll still be a fan and support Bradley, but I can see why many long-time fans have given up.

Maybe they will quit posting too. If all I did was gripe I would move on. The writers write what they write. Not sur why some make such a big deal about it
