  • Oral Roberts make huge scheduling mistake

Oral Roberts just changed from the Summit League to the Southland Conference..but for some unexplained reason, their AD and staff scheduled way too many games against D-II opponents, and now they are forced to forfeit TWO of their conference games since two of their new league members are provisional D-I's and Oral Roberts cannot legally play them now that they've played their NCAA limit of allowable non-D-I games.

These will be FORFEIT losses & will count as LEAGUE losses to these newcomers in the league standings and of course hurt them and the entire league financially...
someone in the Athletic Department should definitely be fired over this bonehead move.

they have taken a page out of another popular politician in giving their excuse for this error - "we thought ..we were exempt.. - we just didn't know..."

That's interesting. Does this happen often? I'm assuming not.

Probably part of the reason why Oral Roberts is going back to the Summit next year This move has been a disaster in every respect for Oral Bob.

By the way, Stephen F Austin is also in violation of this rule. There's your only 2 Southland programs that have a chance to to miss a play-in game in the NCAAs, by the way.
