Actually, you are not alone. I have heard from a lot of fans last night and today who agree with your viewpoint. Most of them will not be renewing their season tickets next year. It is simply unimaginable how far this program has been allowed to fall. Now we need a complete rebuilding just to get back to where we were.

How much of it in your opinion is because he is being asked to play a position and do things he has never done in his past, is not capable of doing, and was never recruited to do?

If we played him at the 4 or 5 position, would we be blaming him for not rebounding enough or not defending other teams' post players well enough?

maybe but maybe learn from this - Geno is a very nice guy - funny, joking - so is Barry Hinson - neither one is intense - neither one oozes and drips competitiveness like Gregg Marshall does....like Jim Boeheim does, like Billy Donovan does, like Dick Versace did, and like Bo Ryan does..........
nobody likes Gregg Marshall - other coaches don't and their press doesn't, but guess what ?? - he gets good players and wins -
so I guess maybe some schools would prefer to get someone who's a nice guy that the press & Kirk Wessler love --

He was not recruited as a point guard, either. so why is he being asked to do something he has never done? There is a huge difference between playing the point and playing off the ball at the 2-guard position, where he was recruited to play.

I think plenty of people are blaming Geno...from recruiting to play on both ends of the floor......now not many are calling for him to be fired this year but I think if you see regression next year then there will be plenty of people who will call for it.

Never done? He's a senior and has played point guard most of his career. I do realize though that he doesn't have the supporting cast that our point guards of the past have had.

Walt never played point guard in grade school, high school, or summer ball. He was never a point guard at any time in his life, including his first season at Bradley, until Geno decided to move him there halfway into the 2011-2012 season after he decided Dyricus Simms-Edwards was not working out as well as he wanted at the point. So Walt has been a point guard now about 2 years, which does not quite make "most of his career". It is not easy to move someone to point guard and expect them to excel immediately at it. If Bradley had tried to make Hersey Hawkins a point guard, it would have ruined his career, and he would have never become an All American. One of the most critical facets of coaching is to identify the talents of each player and play them in a way that optimizes those talents. I have talked to numerous coaches who all agree Walt should not be playing point guard.

The point I was making with Hersey was theoretical. Of course we had great point guards on those teams, but if we didn't, it would have been a disaster to try to put Hersey at PG because he did not possess the skills needed. Same with Walt. If Walt could stay here 10 years, he will never be a point guard.

I think Hersey could have adjusted. I think he had the skills to play anywhere in the backcourt. Thank goodness DV didn't ask him to be a PG.

Geno has tailored everything for Walt the last 3 seasons. He has told everyone that Walt is our hardest worker and our best player. When the offense is tailored for 1 player everyone else is going to defer to him especially if you only run plays for him in the guts of the game. That basically means if Walt doesn't score 30 we don't win. Even with all of that we still had a chance to win and for this team that's saying something. Our tendency to leave the wrong guys open reared its ugly head again. As much as we can struggle on offense we have to play defense and make our free throws to give ourselves any chance to win. I just hope we don't embarrass ourselves at ISU Blue and at Wichita St the next 2 games. The guys need to take an "us against the world" attitude in those 2 games and see what happens. Maybe it'll spark something into them that they can use for the rest of the year. Seem to be grasping at straws here but that's where I'm at with this team.

I agree we seem to be leaving people wide open for threes again. Does everyone think that when you work on things all week in practice and talk about it all the time that it is the coaches fault that they do not execute? I think there are things that Geno has failed at
and also think that he is as frustrated with these guys as we all are. Remember we are dealing with kids who develop opinions of themselves based on many things from parents
handlers etc. This age of entitlement creates a lot of issues with young adults who have never been taught that a strong worth ethic is key in life and success. We may very well have a bunch of wimpy non working kids who do not listen to authority based on their opinion of themselves.. Maybe that is Genos fault but I guess your GUESS!! is as good as mine about what is wrong with this team.. Remember we nor Geno Can shoot for them pass for them or execute for them, some of the blame has to be put on this bunch of wimpy non producing kids.. Yes Geno has all the responsibility in making this program successful! But it is a team and a University that has to execute the plan together..
