BU basketball is one of the things that always makes it hard to decide when to head to FL. We're leaving Tuesday. As long-time season ticketholders, the next big decision is whether or not to re-up for next season. Wish nothing but the best for Geno and the Braves and hope they can salvage something out of the rest of the season.

That's all I'm saying because I can't think of one good thing to say. This is pathetic.

I hate to miss Barry also ,he's my favorite. Always worth many laughs. As is our Braves. You have to laugh or else we'd cry. Very hard to watch, even from 1,085 miles. We were at B12's house last night watching the game and he'd come with me if you can get down here. Let me know.

I thought Bradley played ok... I don't care about SOS conference play is always tougher no matter how good or bad a team is MSU is 11-3, they are winning games. Walt was 8-16 for 25pts so he was efficient in shooting category 4ast 5to's. Stat that is concerning me still is 0rebs.
Bradley attempted and made more FT's, shot 42% from 3, and out rebounded MSU. Which are all good things. However 11ast & 13TO's as a team is hard to see. Have to find ways to get teammates buckets. But guys have to convert too.
2 games ago people were screaming for Geno's head because of the UNI loss was so big. He follows that up with a WIN over Drake and a tough hard fought 3pt loss to MSU (11-3). 3 out of the last 4 games Bradley I think has played a lot tougher & been fun to watch South Florida, Drake, MSU ... UNI Game not so much.
People want to say its unacceptable to lose at Home? Yes you want to protect your home court, but is Carver that much of an advantage. Why because of the wild ruckus crowd BU has and how crazy loud the environment is. Stop yourself. I think Bradley has a solid atmosphere when they are good, lame atmosphere when they aren't so good. Said it before & I'll say it again. Most loud, crazy arenas, are controlled by rowdy student sections, not business men & their families. Yes season ticket holders are usually Business men and such, but all the craziness, chants, signs, heckling starts & comes from Student Sections.
Bradley is not a Powerhouse in Basketball. It has a rich history of some good players and some good teams, but that's it. Since 1990 BU has made NCAA Tourney in 1996 and 2006, and the NIT 1994, 1995, 1997, 1999, 2001, 2007. So take out the 90's and in the last 13 years BU have made a meaningful post season appearance 3 times. Im just stating facts.
UNI- NCAA APPEARANCES Since 2000: (5)
NIT APPEARANCES Since 2000: (1)
CREIGHTON- NCAA APPEARANCE SINCE 2000: (7)
NIT APPEARANCES SINCE 2000: (4)
Wichita State- NCAA APPEARANCESES SINCE 2000: (3)
NIT APPEARANCES SINCE 2000: (5)
INDIANA STATE- NCAA APPEARANCES SINCE 2000: (3)
NIT APPEARANCES SINCE 2000: (1)
Southern Illinois- NCAA APPEARANCES SINCE 2000: (6)
NIT APPEARANCES SINCE 2000: (2)
MISSOURI STATE- NCAA APPAEARANCES SINCE 2000: (0)
NIT APPEARANCES SINCE 2000: (5)
Drake- NCAA APPAEARANCES SINCE 2000: (1)

NIT APPEARANCES SINCE 2000: (4)

Hate to say this, but I think next season, we'll still be in rebuilding mode with more newcomers who will likely have an impact.
Yeah, I really thought that by next season, we'd be contending for the MVC, but I don't see us finishing in the Top 3 for another couple years...and that's if we make strides to get better. We saw it last year, but has been 2 steps back this year.
I am disappointed in the guys that Geno has recruited so far - he gets a D- for recruiting. He'd better score big on his next recruits for next season, because these guys just ain't cutting it. Barnes was a good get, and Grier has been ok.
I think that Swop will come into his own, but thought he would have been further along that we've seen.
I love Walt, but I think we'll be a better - more dimensional team once he leaves.

I am tired of losing. Bradley used to be a team that contended every year. Now we are the doormat of the league. Something has to change. We can be competitive. I am tired of hearing we cant compete with the " big boys". That is a croc! Yes we can. We just have to put the right pieces into play. We can compete!!!!

Started watching when BU had a 23-13 lead and really didn't see much throughout that I could smile about, except for rebounding (which has been good all year) and kicking it out to Barnes for 3. If you noticed, that's where Missouri State excelled against us and allowed them to win.
In the last 6 years I've watched BU hoops regularly, living in Chicago, we do not have any type of inside-out game, which HAS to be present at any level of basketball, and nearly every decent team we've played implements this.
Why do we fail to do this???

Far to often, he settles for a pullup jumper just inside the arc, or throws up a wild shot after driving. I think he's a great player, but is better suited to be a second or third scorer on a team, not the primary scorer we are asking him to be. It also doesn't help that we don't have a true PG on this team. What part of illegal don't you understand?

If we played him at the 4 or 5 position, would we be blaming him for not rebounding enough or not defending other teams' post players well enough?

View from an MSU fan. When they brought Geno in I thought he was going to push uptempo, what happened with that?
I think you fire him after the season and start over. He's got plenty of players, just aint working. Get a big league assistant and gamble on being an up and comer.
The assistant route has worked better for Valley teams. Gregg Marshall is the exception not the rule.
Good luck to y'all...
