Final score: Missouri State 68 Bradley 65

We let them have some easy layups and 3 wide open 3's in the 2nd half??¦.

We do not rotate the ball quick enough to get it inside against the one..

Walt will not trust his teammates??¦.particularly at the end of shot clock or the end of the game??¦..

DC, calling that a botched play is a complement. That was totally horrendous. It is truly hard to watch. If there were 5745 people there plus everyone on the MSU bench and the 6 of us watching in Florida, I don't think anyone was fooled about who was going to throw up that piece of sh-t. With that much time left and to take a shot like that with 3 people on him tells me nothing has changed. Just plain hard to watch.

I'll be very close to the Villages early next week for a couple days??¦..I hate to miss the gameday luncheon with Barry though

And can anyone explain to me how we could have mismanaged the end of game situation, and been left with no timeouts for that last possession?
Not that it would have made any difference, since we almost never seem to call a play that actually works when we come out of a timeout, and we end up just having Walt go literally 1 on 5 like the final possession. It would have been nice to have a couple decent shooters on the floor, and have some semblance of a plan to pass the ball to one of the guys who were open since 3 or 4 Missouri State defenders were chasing Walt all over the floor 30-40 feet from the basket when all we needed was one basket to tie the game.
My overall impression was that we played well for stretches of the game, and that Missouri State does not have as much talent on their team as Bradley has. They basically have only 2 players that carry them, yet for some reason, we seemed to have no answer for them. Numerous layups and wide open threes. We made Jamar Gulley and Marcus Marshall look like Michael Jordan, and LeBron James tonight.

This team is hard to watch in that there appears to be low basketball IQ. I think we played the first 10 minutes very well and maybe 5 minutes in the second half well. Our defense can lead to good offense, but we have trouble with a half court offense. We let Gulley and Marshall take over and there were many defensive lapses due to inattention. When Lemon is out of the game, we cannot score and when he is in the game, we just hope he finds his shot before he commits a turnover. I do not have any advise for Geno this year, but I am going to drink some beer at the next home game.

Not the way I saw it. Walt passed the ball off when he was triple teamed on the final possession, but his teammates didn't want it and passed it right back to him despite the triple teaming. When Walt got trapped, nobody else even tried to get to an open spot for Walt to pass to.

we definitely gave up easy layups and a few 3's but they also made some tough 3's as well??¦..the one 3 off the press by Reuter???¦.he's in there for one reason and we weren't within 10 feet of him??¦.

Our IQ is horrendous??¦??¦.

Hard to say about talent??¦.Bell hits a couple of shots but messes up big time on offense toime and time again??¦.Barnes was scared to shoot toward the end of the game and just threw it to Walt and watched.

Walt won't pass the ball because apparently he feels he's the only one who can take/make a big shot...

I guess I would have to see it again??¦.needing a 3, all 5 guys were outside the line so it was going to be tough to get a decent 3 off anyway..

The possession that bothered me was after timeout with about 1:40 left??¦we inbound and Walt and Bell pass back and forth until Walt takes a forced shot??¦I can't believe that's what Geno wanted them to do.

This team seems to play their worst after timeouts- hard to understand why they can't execute specific plays.

you look at the stats??¦..we lost this game because of our defense??¦.

even if you throw in Barnes??¦??¦we only have 13 out of 48 shots by post players

Agree and add lack of out of bounds plays/execution and defensive against out of bounds plays just bewilders me. It just can't be possible that Geno does not have them coached up on this? However, From what I see it's a complete mess. At this at point, if I'm Geno then I don't care who I offend or upset and if you want to see the court you better execute basic basketball.

PS - losing at home is unacceptable.

BU basketball is one of the things that always makes it hard to decide when to head to FL. We're leaving Tuesday. As long-time season ticketholders, the next big decision is whether or not to re-up for next season. Wish nothing but the best for Geno and the Braves and hope they can salvage something out of the rest of the season.

Lefty ,where you gonna be in Florida. If you get a chance come on over to the Villages. All three squares have happy hour from 4 to 6 and that is two for the price of one. We are closest to Lake Sumpter Landing Square but I'll meet you at any of the three if you get to the Villages.
I hate to miss Barry also ,he's my favorite. Always worth many laughs. As is our Braves. You have to laugh or else we'd cry. Very hard to watch, even from 1,085 miles. We were at B12's house last night watching the game and he'd come with me if you can get down here. Let me know.

I thought Bradley played ok... I don't care about SOS conference play is always tougher no matter how good or bad a team is MSU is 11-3, they are winning games. Walt was 8-16 for 25pts so he was efficient in shooting category 4ast 5to's. Stat that is concerning me still is 0rebs.

Bradley attempted and made more FT's, shot 42% from 3, and out rebounded MSU. Which are all good things. However 11ast & 13TO's as a team is hard to see. Have to find ways to get teammates buckets. But guys have to convert too.

2 games ago people were screaming for Geno's head because of the UNI loss was so big. He follows that up with a WIN over Drake and a tough hard fought 3pt loss to MSU (11-3). 3 out of the last 4 games Bradley I think has played a lot tougher & been fun to watch South Florida, Drake, MSU ... UNI Game not so much.

People want to say its unacceptable to lose at Home? Yes you want to protect your home court, but is Carver that much of an advantage. Why because of the wild ruckus crowd BU has and how crazy loud the environment is. Stop yourself. I think Bradley has a solid atmosphere when they are good, lame atmosphere when they aren't so good. Said it before & I'll say it again. Most loud, crazy arenas, are controlled by rowdy student sections, not business men & their families. Yes season ticket holders are usually Business men and such, but all the craziness, chants, signs, heckling starts & comes from Student Sections.

Bradley is not a Powerhouse in Basketball. It has a rich history of some good players and some good teams, but that's it. Since 1990 BU has made NCAA Tourney in 1996 and 2006, and the NIT 1994, 1995, 1997, 1999, 2001, 2007. So take out the 90's and in the last 13 years BU have made a meaningful post season appearance 3 times. Im just stating facts.

UNI- NCAA APPEARANCES Since 2000: (5)
NIT APPEARANCES Since 2000: (1)

CREIGHTON- NCAA APPEARANCE SINCE 2000: (7)

Hate to say this, but I think next season, we'll still be in rebuilding mode with more newcomers who will likely have an impact.
Yeah, I really thought that by next season, we'd be contending for the MVC, but I don't see us finishing in the Top 3 for another couple years...and that's if we make strides to get better. We saw it last year, but has been 2 steps back this year.

I am disappointed in the guys that Geno has recruited so far - he gets a D- for recruiting. He'd better score big on his next recruits for next season, because these guys just ain't cutting it. Barnes was a good get, and Grier has been ok.
I think that Swop will come into his own, but thought he would have been further along that we've seen.

I love Walt, but I think we'll be a better - more dimensional team once he leaves.

Paying a guy nearly 1 mill who says from the outset that people will not want to play us at home makes you think more that yes, losing at home to Missouri State is unacceptable.

I am tired of losing. Bradley used to be a team that contended every year. Now we are the doormat of the league. Something has to change. We can be competitive. I am tired of hearing we cant compete with the " big boys". That is a croc! Yes we can. We just have to put the right pieces into play. We can compete!!!!

Started watching when BU had a 23-13 lead and really didn't see much throughout that I could smile about, except for rebounding (which has been good all year) and kicking it out to Barnes for 3. If you noticed, that's where Missouri State excelled against us and allowed them to win.

In the last 6 years I've watched BU hoops regularly, living in Chicago, we do not have any type of inside-out game, which HAS to be present at any level of basketball, and nearly every decent team we've played implements this.
Why do we fail to do this???

I agree. As good as Walt is, and he's by far the most talented player on the team this year, he's not displaying a very high basketball IQ. Far to often, he settles for a pullup jumper just inside the arc, or throws up a wild shot after driving. I think he's a great player, but is better suited to be a second or third scorer on a team, not the primary scorer we are asking him to be. It also doesn't help that we don't have a true PG on this team.
