BU is double teaming and trapping the Drake guards. Nice to see this adjustment. It has rattled them and caused several turnovers.
      BU leads 14-2

Bradley took a 19-2 lead, but then some mistakes and fouls allowed Drake to cut the leaf to 34-28 at half. Bradley is shooting 42%, but just 1-8 from three. Drake is shooting 38%. Bradley is out rebounding Drake 20-14.
We need 20 more minutes of the same effort as the first half.
        Go BU.

Geno finally gave up on this depth stuff and shortened the rotation and played mainly just 7 guys and they were quite productive except for Omari not hitting much outside of a couple layups..
but we also made a much better effort to get at least one touch in the paint which did open up outside and our guys could shoot or drive...
when we did start rushing outside shots that when we lost the lead...so maybe we learn something here...
Fans have been asking for three years why we don't feed the post more and all we get is lame excuses but obviously it works....and it helped get a win tonite..
Walt had a far better game but the defense had to sag to help inside and that helped Walt.

attendance 6465 - still very disappointing and I noted a lot of regulars and season ticket holders missing but the ones who were there made noise and made for a very good crowd!
as noted in another thread this is the smallest conference game and Saturday conference game attendance in 25-30 years..and many may not be back....sad

Yes, I heard Geno sought some input from some pretty shrewd basketball minds and adjusted his playing rotation as well as his offensive and defensive schemes based on those suggestions, and they worked great. This was the best game Bradley has played this year. In addition to shortening the rotation, one of the other plans was to double-team their 2 small guards, Daniels and Carter and try to take the ball out of their hands. It worked well. It did lead to a lot of open shots by Hawley, Caird, and Danielak, but those did not huet Bradley as much as their guards are capable of.

Congratulations to Geno and the team. Nice way to bounce back!

Good solid effort for the entire game....really liked the slow-down offense in the 1st half....I thought this set the tone for the game! Career high 31pts for Walter......anyone hear how bad Bell's injury is?

Tonight both players and staff deserve kudos!

PS.......if Hawley played Bradley every game he'd be drafted in the 1st round in the NBA!
                        He really excels against BU!

On the post game show, Geno said it was looked at by the trainer and the team doctor, and they felt it wasn't serious- probably just a sprain. Bell said he felt a "pop" and then pain. That can sometimes mean something more serious.
I hope the injury is minor like they thought.

it does show you the amazing value of just ONE guy who can drain some threes...
Giacoletti knows it - Hawley shoots 43% from the arc and he had the green light - without him Bradley wins by 25!
