three factors make this into another blowout loss for Bradley (already down sixteen points in the 1st half)

-we are clearly not at all prepared for the defense they are throwing at us - as if we've never seen this team and haven't "scouted" them - we constantly get trapped then chuck horrible, telegraphed, biddyball-caliber passes that lead to wide open breakaway dunks

-we absolutely do not know how to play defense on a shooter - we leave their 3-pt shooters so wide open it's incredible. Omari was playing 15 feet off Deon Mitchell on one of his made jumpers - surely he has to know Mitchell is their top scorer

-last simple thing - they make their shots we do not make ours

How could Geno keep his job after the year is over?

they get the ball so easily on the block for easy layups against the zone - we have to improve that - as soon as the big guy steps into the lane we have to front him -
our low post guys aren't getting a thing - their guys are having a layup drill. Hope someone's taking notes this time.

This is as worse as it gets for the "fallout". Might win 2 maybe 3 more games rest of season but it doesn't matter, this is by far the worst Bradley team I have seen in my 13 years or so of following BU. Personally I'd like to see Geno tossed at end of season, if you can't get 8 new players to gel into your system to make a decent basketball team, then you aren't the answer. It's not like he can boot 5-10 players off the team for next season and try it again. Virtually everyone expected this team to be a contender top 3 or 4 in the Valley, instead it's one of the worst in Division 1 lol. I don't get that.

Jason - we just reloaded with 8 new players - largely late pickups during the spring signing period and disgruntled year-end transfer players...and a couple more are kids who didn't score much at all in HS or juco and of course can't score now...

Note Chris Blake lost his starting spot and has barely played...
He's a great guy and no harm intended but - did it take 14 games into the season for Geno to realize you just cannot build a contender with obscure leftover guys who are unsigned during the late signing period - and who nobody else is recruiting.

However - as if it couldn't get any worse - look for a few players to leave and we'll re-do the entire spring reload all over again this year and bring in several more late pickups..
I got a laugh out of some chatter elsewhere that we're going to be a pretty good team in 2014-15 -- I just don't see it...

UNI - on the other hand - every significant player they have put on the court returns next year...not one of their relevant players is a senior...
If they are kicking our butts big time with sophomores & juniors - then they're gonna do it again next year as well.

                OK - my last comment...
Mitchell again just dribbled all alone to the right elbow, stopped and hit an unguarded jumper...
what the heck - are we trying to let them score - there wasn't the tiniest bit of defense thrown at the guy - he is their leading scorer and we give him uncontested jumpers from 15 feet. -
no wonder we're down 34 points and looking like our guys don't really care...

                      Final score
UNI 80 BU 46 even worse than last years 84-53 blowout loss there

This was never a game, even though there is no reason it should have gotten away from us so quickly. Northern Iowa was just 6-6, and they are not going to be an NCAA team. I doubt they are an NIT team, but with as weak as the Valley is they could possibly finish as high as 3rd and have a chance. Nonetheless, losing by 34 points and never showing the slightest bit of heart or effort on offense or defense in a game televised throughout the Midwest, in Chicago, and St. Louis, this cannot help our program.
Frankly, this team is a complete embarrassment, and I am ashamed of our administration for allowing this to happen to this great program. I'll stop before I say something that will get the minions riled up, but there cannot be anyone left with half a mind who still thinks "we need to give this staff more time to bring in their own players", or that "we are still digging out from the previous coach". That is absurd. The fewer players we have from the previous staff, the lower this team sinks. And heaven knows how bad it will get next year when we lose the 2 best players.

I saw a glimmer of hope. It was when the scoreboard said 2nd half and the time read 0:00.

Just finished listening to Geno on the radio post-game show. He basically blamed everything on not finding the right starting lineup and player rotation yet, and the players not giving enough effort on defense. It sounds like he is saying we will need to keep playing a whole bunch of different guys until we can settle on the right starters and rotation.

This team has been practicing since early August, with all the allowable early practices prior to the Bahamas trip. If we haven't discovered the right lineup yet, then maybe that is not the problem? I am not a coach, but I think the problem is we can't shoot, we can't defend, we can't execute simple plays, and we seem clueless on offense and defense. But we have nice kids, and with the help of the walk-ons and deep bench guys, we get a good team GPA we can brag about.

                                Sorry, I meant to...

By the way, again I see that we have 200 people online right now. It is obvious Bradley fans are still loyal in following this team, but how much longer will the fans keep caring when we see games like tonight? I already know a few who are ready to give up.
