Watching this DVD for the first time.

Everyone's thoughts?

So far its early but, Im loving the throwback all the way back and the player cuts to interviews.

Maybe some of you are on it? Or were apart of the making it? Anyway I'm loving ending Christmas w/ my lil man and this DVD! Merry Christmas and Go BU!

I too enjoyed the DVD. Did you get the book (same title) that goes along with the DVD?

One of the most memorable part of the book was the discussion of the DuSable HS team in the Illinois State championship game vs Mt Vernon.

DuSable had 3 stars on the first all-black team to make the finals: Shellie McMillon(later of Bradley fame), Paxton Lumpkins, and 'Sweet Charlie' Brown.

Curley Johnson(also later at Bradley) was also on that team- but I believe he graduated mid year and did not play in the Championship game.

DuSable led late in the title game when Brown was called with two charging fouls & Lumpkins was called for 3 traveling violations...all called AFTER the ball had gone through the hoop-10 points waived off... and all by the same ref.....DuSable lost 76-70

Both Brown and Lumpkin + one other starter fouled out of the contest

I remember watching that game. I was ticked off because it pre-empted the NCAA Championship game (Bradley vs. LaSalle). The Bradley/LaSalle game was joined in progress for the second half.

UFS in Peoria has a couple big boxes of the book/DVD combo for $1.50. Yes, $1.50. They have a website so you out-of-towers might be able to grab one as well!
