There were only nine games total in Division I basketball last night and five of them were 20 point, 30 point, 40 point, and even 80 point blowouts as a few D-I's feasted on really weak and D-I opponents.
Actually only one game was really a close one...but several past BU recruits were involved...
Northwestern came from behind in the final minutes after trailing most of the game by single digits, and led with under a minute to go but DePaul finished stronger....winning 57-56.
The game started very slowly with both teams getting only one basket in the opening 2 1/2 minutes, then it took almost 11 minutes for both teams to hit double digits at 12-10.
DePaul's Tommy Hamilton had just 2 pts, six rebounds but he had a nice assist at the end for the winning points.
For Northwestern Drew Crawford had 15, Nate Taphorn had 6, big man Alex Olah was scoreless, as was Nikola Cerina, Jershon Cobb had just 3 pts as a sub.
Cobb has been hampered by nagging foot problems but is averaging 13.6 ppg on the season despite scoring only 3 pts in just 13 minutes total over the past three weeks.
