The next game is a rare, desirable Saturday night HOME game against a POWER CONFERENCE opponent...
The last time that happened we drew 11,019
In 2007-08 we hosted TWO power conference opponents but neither was a Saturday night - yet we drew 10,253 for Iowa State & an all time record 11,597 for Michigan State.

if the crowd isn't at least 8,000 then someone should step forward and give an explanation...

I don't think so since most of those folks can't post here any longer..

and maybe if Michigan State was back you could see maybe 8-10k Saturday...

      1) I agree, I genuinely miss intelligent conversation from opposing viewpoints on BU Basketball. The boards have, for the most part, self selected based on viewpoint, up until the last 5-6 games I was pretty neutral on Geno, but now I feel bad even posting here, because it's just more of the same (though still more rational IMO).

      2) I agree, I don't think we can compare USF to Michigan or MSU. And I don't really even consider the AAC a power conference. They have been stripped of almost every major program.

what games can you point to that show we can make adjustments and turn a loss into a win?
how many come-from-behind success stories or upsets have we had?
how many times have we been successful at neutralizing other teams' best players?
who are the top recruits these last 3 years?
give specific examples you can point out showing how coaching moves have made a difference in games.
why should any of us fans keep paying to watch this?
and try to answer without blaming the previous coach.
I'm not going to answer each and every question....but I think people thought were going as expected until the Indiana alphabet teams showed up....we had not really won any signature games or games we shouldn't have won....but up until then we hadn't lost any games we should have won either....especially at home..until now.....this year is regressing for sure right now and I think it might take a minor miracle to snap out of it.
Depending on how it ends up...I would think Geno's seat is a little hot next year....

I've never blamed Les for anything regarding the Bradley teams the last few years....I didn't think Les was that great of a coach really especially without Chuck but it wouldn't have bothered me if they gave him another year....the administration made a change so Geno needs to show us progressing and competing to get toward the top of the league. I'm not sure Geno is that good either.....we'll have to see...

..well as long as they have UConn, Louisville, Memphis, & Cincy - they have as much POWER as most any other power conferences - eight National Championships and two 2nd place

Do you honestly think we will draw over 6,000?? We are playing awful - I'm not sure I would even travel to Peoria if I got free tickets. And that's saying a lot because I normally would if I could in a heartbeat. Just not feeling good about the Braves right now.

The ACC has that in just Duke and UNC, Pac 12 has that in just UCLA, SEC has that in just Kentucky... And it's disingenuous to include Louisville that is a member for one year then they just add to the ACC's total. Trying to pretend a conference that has ECU, Tulane, USF etc. in it compares to conference like the Big Ten or that USF is anyway comparable to MSU, isn't reasonable at all. One of the biggest programs in the AAC will be the worst program in the Big 10...

All depends on what you call intelligent conversation. It doesn't mean name calling if someone else disagrees with your opinion.

any message board that promotes and encourages name calling and intense personal attacks,
and even has threads totally dedicated to them is hardly what I'd call a place to go for intelligent conversation.

Agreed, which is largely what the two 'sides' do now... I don't understand/appreciate the constant personal attacks if you have a differing viewpoint and thusly why I miss the intelligent conversation.

Watched an ASU vs Tex Tech MBB game Saturday here in Tempe Az.

It was two decent BCS Conference schools going at each other. ASU could be a top 25 team (and top 4 Pac 12 team) and has been playing well.

ASU has 2 potential all Pac 12 players on their roster and are now 9 -2... (6-2 at home). TT was 7-4....now 7-5

Phoenix metro area has 4M people in it. ASU has enrollment of 70k.
More local ASU alumni than population of City of Peoria...

ASU on campus arena served by Phx light rail system.

Attendance, in ASU's 8500 seat arena?

6000 paid attendance, 5000 or less at the game. Less than 100 students
                        attending, excluding band/cheerleaders.

I walked up 5 min to tip off to ticket office and paid $48 for a 2nd row seat in lower bowl inside the baseline accross from ASU bench.

Hopefully this keeps BU pre season home attendance issues in perspective over holidays.
