I can't help but wonder if the Knicks are cursed...
Of course there are people who think they are....cursed because of their hideous alternate jerseys (LINK), cursed because of their rigging of the 1985 draft lottery to grab Patrick Ewing (LINK), cursed just because they are greedy and try to buy a championship team?
Most of us Bulls fans know why they are cursed...it all started on one night in 1994....for those who are too young....
Many Bulls fans pronounced a curse on the Knicks at the time of the most infamous bad call ever - the Hue Hollins foul call on Scottie Pippen that handed the 1994 playoff series to the Knicks...a call that still bothers many Bulls fans...
The Knicks had good teams in that Pat Riley era-- but very soon after that the Knicks started a down hill slide that has lasted, really, until now and seems to have no real end in sight--
By the late 90's the Knicks were starting a stretch of many sub-.500 seasons..
After a 6-year stretch where they went - 327-160 in the early 1990's, the next eighteen seasons up thru this current one, they have amassed a combined record of 558-730.
They currently have one of the NBA's worst records and fans are unhappy.
Plus - all the injuries, the terrible trades - especially of top draft picks, the bad & expensive long term deals they sign with unproductive players, the Isiah Thomas era & lawsuits, the bad draft picks (Michael Sweetney, Maciej Lampe, Slavko Vranes, Trevor Ariza, Dijon Thompson, Mardy Collins), etc..... - the Knicks seem cursed
