  • BU women vs NIU

The ladies lost 85 ???‚¬??? 75 to the NIU Huskies. Erika Nelson led four Braves in double figures with 25. Kelly Krumwiede with 18, Devyn Flanagan with 15, and Amy Peters with 14 were the others.

BU fell behind 34 ???‚¬??? 27 in the first half, but then ran off 8 straight to take the lead at 35 ???‚¬??? 34. With the score still at 35 ???‚¬??? 34, BU had the ball for the apparent last possession. However, a turnover with under 10 seconds left in the half led to a NIU basket and a 36 ???‚¬??? 35 NIU halftime lead.

The Braves got to within one at 63 ???‚¬??? 62 and again at 65 ???‚¬??? 64, but that was the Braves last hooray.

I have to admit I don???‚¬?„?t understand some of the coaching decisions in this game. Jen Brown didn???‚¬?„?t start and only played roughly 20 minutes. There were other substitutions I didn???‚¬?„?t get. And the last possession of the first half was not what I would have done.

Oh, well, the ladies return to the court on Thursday hosting the Fighting Illini. Get out and support the women.

    Story:

Senior Erika Nelson tied a Robertson Field House record with seven three-pointers and was one of four Bradley players in double figures, but Stephanie Raymond scored 19 of her game-high 30 points in the second half to help power Northern Illinois to an 85-75 victory over the Bradley women's basketball Sunday afternoon at Robertson Memorial Field House.

    Box score:

Erika Nelson tied a Robertson Field House record with her 7 treys. You never seem to notice her until you look at the scoreboard. She leads the Braves averaging more than 14 per game and is shooting 3s at a .470 clip.

Jen Brown only played 15 minutes not my guess at roughly 20. And why wasn???‚¬?„?t she in to run the play at the end of the first half. Coach Buscher called a timeout to have a player who averages less than 3 minutes a game and who already had 2 turnovers run the play. Result, another turnover and half ending basket for NIU.

Is Chelleen hurting again? As a starting center to only score 2 pts and 1 rb in 15 minutes is not gonna get it......Amy P should start at center IMO!
