the ref crew we had last night - and I think they are due a little kudos - did a very good job..
There's always people whining but I actually never heard it once last night --
    they were very good -
One was Rick Hartzell - the guy who used to be the AD at UNI but obviously enjoys this much more and the income is pretty good. I sit close enough that I asked him if maybe that big guy on IPFW (Forbes) had swallowed Eric Coleman (one of the broad-bottomed UNI big men from a few years ago) and he turned around a snickered..
The crew cut guy, Kelly Self, I think does the best job of all - calls only what needs to be called - maybe the one guy I hope we get every game.

Right now, I have zero interest or motivation in even heading north up from St. Louis and attending a game or two this year on the womens or mens side. Usually, I look forward to it. In a sense, I do see flashes of the final Albeck years, which have been repressed all this time from my memory.

There are significant systemic deficiencies with these two programs, and I am going to scream if we see the same beat down loss results in our spring athletic teams (talking about baseball/softball primarily here).

I'm giving Geno a chance and hope things pick up, but, if we lose our 2 best players for the season this year, and I hope we don't, 12-20 and 4-14 would get Geno coach of the year.
What part of illegal don't you understand?

if you're talking 2010-11 Jim Les lost his two best players for the entire season - that would be like Geno losing Walt AND Tyshon - just how good would he be?
Andrew Warren stepped up and had a great year but we were a depleted team - and I know we talk not using injuies as an excuse - but if we were to lose Walt & Tyshon - you know we'd be hearing it...
We do not have injuries at all this season ..

This is year 3 and this staff is making big money it's time for results. If things don't get better it should be someone's head. If there were injuries I could understand but someone better start recruiting some talent.

What's Greg Marshall's record by year at WSU? That should be how we judge Geno's progress.

Marshall's first 2 years at WSU are similar to Geno's.

In year 3 he had a 12-6 record in Valley and made it to the NIT.

So year 3 is where Geno appears to be drastically falling off. However I guess things could change but I dont see it. This team appears to be in shambles

WSUwas 17-14 theyear before and Turgeon left for Texas A&M??¦.plus I think Marshall is just a better coach period??¦.

I don't do all the comparing to others like some do??¦.every situation is different??¦if we go backwards from 18 wins this year that seat should be hot next year. I don't care what other schools or coaches do.

we have been thru this many times with other coaches (JM, JL..)
                          - Bob Knight, Mike Krzyzewski, Dana Altman, and many others had a lot of lean years before they had good years -
but - when we used to use that line before in 2003, 2004, 2005, oddly fans said we need to have the pieces in place by year THREE.
That has been the consensus even tho I do NOT agree with it - but by year three there ought to be a decent number of horses in the stable to expect good results..
For Jim Les - but the end of year three we had a LOT of good pieces already in the fold, POB, Cellus, Boogie, DRuff, etc...kid who could play, were scorers, etc...

the only two horses we have in the stable now will be long gone next year - I think that's the huge difference whether one wants to see it or not...
