Walt was subbed out for one possession in the first half. I wondered what kind of effort we were going to come out with and I thought our effort was a lot better. We played harder but it doesn't matter if you can't put the ball into the hoop. Other than Taylor you got nothing from the rest of the bench. Puts a lot of pressure on your starters when that happens and unfortunately Barnes and Grier were shooting blanks all night. Once again missed in double digits in point blank shots and we missed in double digits from 3. Effort is great but you have got to be able to convert. Right now we just don't have enough guys who are able to and/or can do that.
I thought I remembered Walt stepping out in the first half. It must have been only a few seconds of clock, since he is listed as playing 40 minutes in the box score.
Geno was upbeat on his post-game show, a contrast to his discouraged and upset mood after the IUPUI game. He said we played them as well as we could have, and just needed some shots to fall. He thinks eventually the shots will fall.
I don't know if I can agree, since it's the same story nearly every game. We just don't look like we are going to get help from anyone other than "The Big Four"- Lemon, Grier, Pickett, and Barnes.
you do need role players - how many times did a kid like Danny Adams or Aaron Zobrist or even once in a while a JJ Tauai or Boogie Wright come off the bench and boost us...
we need that really badly, but such roster turnover as we have had the past few years will always leave you without depth - we have 2 or 3 graduate each year
then 2 or 3 more bolt or are sent packing - that's almost half the roster every danged season - forcing us to shake the bushes of the obscure Texas jucos and land some single digit scorers.
Remember - everyone said the cupboard was totally bare and there was NOTHING left behind when Geno came in - yet every year the losses (TB, DSE, Jake, Will Egolf, and this year Walt Lemon)
are severe and not being replaced - This past year we lost 50% of our offense and hardly any of the new guys is contributing, and those guy who are lost are the supposed contents of the bare cupboard!

Walt went out a few seconds before the 8 minute timeout and I think Bell picked up his second foul and Walt went in under that timeout??¦so he may have been out for 10 seconds or so
MILWAUKEE, Wis. - Bradley (5-4) suddenly went cold midway through the second hald and Milwaukee (9-2) took advantage to pull out a 73-67 win Saturday afternoon at the Klotsche Center.
There still are a lot more games to be played this year. However, I fail to see this team improving and I wonder who will be able to score next year when Pickett and Lemon leave.

I'd like to optimistic, but this team has major flaws. We do not have any reliable shooters, and we have nobody who is a good ball handler or passer. We play several players out of position, and we have no real depth (sorry Dave and Kirk, it's true).
We recruited players like Devon Hodges, Jalen Crawford, and Shayok Shayok hoping they were D1 players, but they were not.
We recruited KaDarryl Bell to be our point guard of the future, but he is not a good enough point guard to play the position, even when we have nobody else to put there. So we play him at the 2 guard, but he can't get more than a couple minutes a game there.
We recruited Anthony Fields and were told he'd be our point guard of the future, but he is clearly not a good enough ball handler, decision maker, or shooter to be trusted by Geno yet.
We recruited Omari Grier to be our reliable shooter, but now his shooting percentage has fallen to 34.8% overall, and 30% from three. Plus he struggles on defense.
We recruited Auston Barnes to help as an inside player, but then we are told he is more valuable as a primeter shooter. But now he is shooting 18% from three.
We recruited Chris Blake as another inside player, but he barely sees the floor.
We were told Stefan Zecevic was a tremendous shooter and passer, but then we learn he is not, and is more of an energy guy. But he doesn't play either.
And we read that Swopshire was a steal for us, and he would be a stud. We are still waiting on that.
And we have the best wing guard in the conference (Lemon), but we play him 38 minutes a game at point.
I don't want to be so negative because I do beleive we have a lot of talent, but the problems I see with this team are due to misjudging what those talents were and being left without a true point guard, reliable shooters, or reliable bench talent.
From PJ Star sports expert Kirk Wessler in his Jan. 10, 2012 column following 8th loss in a row at Drake-
"Yes, the Braves are better than they were when the season started two months ago. By a light year or two, they??™re better."
And from the PJ Star 4/26/12, Dave Reynolds-
"Fields and Grier both appear to be difference makers. If Bradley continues to add the right players around them, happy days may be ahead for the Braves after a long dry spell."
