Falls into the category of reading too much into something: simply saying the GSI offered the opportunity to play three home games and Illinois, all rolled into one. If we did not have Nov. 10 as an available date, that particular option - three home games and Illinois in an exempt event - likely would not have been available.

I am one who is very much in favor of using Renaissance Coliseum as an alternate, on-campus site....but what we are seeing here are two separate discussions and concerns...

-one is that there are fans who either feel uncomfortable or unfamiliar with going up to the new arena - perhaps worried about where to park, how to get in or get tickets - even significant disgruntlement with the idea/perception that many fans had that they had already bought season tickets and were being asked to dig deeper and buy more for those games, will it have the same atmosphere they remember from the Fieldhouse, and thus far, pretty much only low level events like the Red-White, preseason games, and low D1 opponents have been hosted.
These are all things that are going to take time - but I guess it is surprising that it took so long to address many of these issues after the investment in building the new arena.

-then we have the issue both at Ren-Col and downtown of the continued downturn in attendance - both paid and obviously real butts-in-the-seats.
Even more - multiple issues from pricing changes, to seating assignments, to confusion over ticket packages, to personnel changes, to negative press coverage and some bad PR from other issues, and of course the bad league finishes have fans less enthused about coming and even bickering about who's to blame.

In my 40+ years of following BU basketball - we've had good & bad years, we've had crowds of 11,500 and 6000, we've had 1st place finishes and last place -- But I have never seen either one of two very disturbing things as I see now...
1- sharply growing apathy in the fan base
2- sharply growing perception (which you read here and elsewhere) that nobody at Bradley cares about fans' concerns. That the only thing that matters is completing the agenda not appealing to fans or what fans want.

Even when the wholesale staff changes & new hirings were made in 2002 & 2011 - we still had the enthusiastic fan base waiting to hear every news release and show up at games, Itoo suppers, fund raisers, community events, etc... and it was still here a couple years ago but a lot of that has dried up.

Is there a broken record here? You seem to bring these same things up in every. single. thread. We all know you think the current administration doesn't care about the fans. Many others think otherwise. I, and many others, are happy to agree to disagree, but when your opinions are constantly being shoved in our faces, it's difficult to just move on.

And let's be clear - you don't blame the market or past regimes for the current state of the program. It seems you think this is entirely the fault of the current administration. Or do you?

I read each post with an open mind but don't necessarily agree with everyone - I can't say I understand how reading something that I choose to click on and read - is having something "shoved in my face"..but then I do have control over where my face goes...

To be fair, we are in year three of the Geno Ford tenure. The Jim Les footprint is all but gone, except for that guy named Walt Lemon. The state of the program rests on Geno's shoulders now.

As I have said before, I have seen 5 or 6 coaching changes over the years. I will admit that the last change was as messy.

However, it is time to be concerned about moving on and hopefully upward. It is Ford's program now and should receive our support. We may have some reservations, or not have some, but we are Bradley fans.
