excellent - Macari Brooks was just the subject of one of our threads...as I had heard some talk...
nice to know we have a shooter/scorer coming in
-
According to the official NJCAA website he averaged 15 ppg and 30.8% from three last year-
This season he is averaging 24.8 ppg and shooting 37.5% from three-
Bio from DePaul-
Bio from Blinn College website- he is a Mac Irvin guy-
He left DePaul in Oct., 2011 for academic reasons, and has spent 2 years at Blinn-

Dismissed from DePaul in fall of 2011, he apparently did not play anywhere that season..
in 2012 he originally signed with Indian Hills CC in Iowa then was released from there - signing in the fall of 2012 with Blinn - but apparently not eligible for the early part of that season and only played ten games in the 2012-13 season
He is a Mac Irvin kid and good friends with Mike Shaw .. I like it - scoring well - with him & Tramique we will have some shooters...

Yes, this is not an official commitment yet. I just did some checking and though he has announced on his twitter that he's coming to Bradley, he has not officially confirmed it with our coaches. Somewhat unconventional. He has a visit set up later this month according to Dave Reynolds-

It may be difficult to confirm it since he isn't eligible to sign a LOI and he still may have academic issues...we will have to wait and see..
also his 24.8 ppg is not 4th best in all of juco ball - it is currently 5th best at the DI level of NJCAA
there are 12 other kids playing at DII level NJCAA including Lincoln's Aaron Simpson plus 5 more at DIII level averaging over 24.8
There's still some kids like Jovany Austin at Malcolm X that I'd love to land - 26.6 ppg & 15 rpg

He is not a pure shooter like many fans think we need, but I like the fact he is a scorer. I think this kind of player is a step in the right direction- instead of kids who were not even scorers in HS or JC or who are not ready to contribute like most recent recruits. From PJ Star sports expert Kirk Wessler in his Jan. 10, 2012 column following 8th loss in a row at Drake-
"Yes, the Braves are better than they were when the season started two months ago. By a light year or two, they??™re better."
And from the PJ Star 4/26/12, Dave Reynolds-
"Fields and Grier both appear to be difference makers. If Bradley continues to add the right players around them, happy days may be ahead for the Braves after a long dry spell."
