    Nothing matters until the conference
Everyone is entitled to a bad night
    Geno gets 5 years
It's good that it happened. We will learn from it.
We're still light years better than the previous regime
We had a nice second half run, forget the rest

What in the Wide, Wide World of Sports is going on here. Quite possible the worst home loss since the Utah home game in the 80's. Your best player can't shoot 4 for 18 from the field missing numerous layups and committing just brain dead miscues and expect to win. Grier 2 of 11 from 3. The team shot 31% from the field, was 3 of 22 from 3 and 21 for 31 from the FT line. Bell continues to struggle and we just don't get any consistent help from the bench. Is the sky falling? Can we put Humpty Dumpty back together again? IUPUI was picked to finish last in the Summitt League. Just no excuse to lose a home game to this team. I sure hope this is the low point that everyone keeps talking about because any more of this kind of basketball and we'll be lucky to win 10 games this season. The guys need to use this game as a new starting point and begin the season again. Push the reset button and come out firing on Saturday at Milwaukee.

I've said it so many times and I promised myself I wouldn't again but here goes and Mods please delete me if I say this again. "WE NEED SHOOTERS" IUPU played a zone for most of the game and our lack of people who can shoot is so glaring. Any Coach who doesn't play us zone this year should get fired b4 he gets back to his campus. I am so tired of recruiting kids who can run and jump but couldn't throw a ball in the ocean if they were standing on the shore. This was pathetic to say the least. 1st half 1 for 8 from the 3 point line =12/5%. we were 7 for 27 from inside the 3 point line =25.9%. Not going to win many conference games with this kind of shooting. Boy do we miss Alex Peters.

yes is the answer.... of course - thus the reason for the quesiton
TWO different players fell out of the usual starting lineup...

Chris Blake did not start - Xzavier Taylor did
Auston Barnes did not start - Ka'Darryl Bell did

didn't matter much - the bench as always was virtually nonexistent - the oft-mentioned depth was again painfully absent.
Does anyone see what's happening - we were repeatedly guaranteed the team would get better & gel as all these new guys got acclimated -
and it still MIGHT happen but instead things are going sharply in the opposite direction.
The "new" guys looked absolutely lost - like they don't even know what state they're in...too late now to redshirt any of them...

not that anyone else needs more bad news but the BU women played a poor EIU team and got beat as well

This is why no one shows up for the games. They don't want to watch bad basketball.

                Bradley vs IUPUI...

A terrible, inexcusable loss at home to a bad team. Another sparse crowd(2000 or less) at the RC. It's going to be a very loooooong year. What in the world is happening to Bradley Basketball?

Might have been the lowest I've heard Geno on the post game show. Said we have guys that keep making the same mistakes over and over and that we didn't play with enough urgency. Geno also said that our ability to finish was awful and that we deserved to lose. At least so far we haven't had anyone step up and lead us and Geno made the point that that was what we had last year, guys like Jake and Will. He kind of put that on Walt, Tyshon and Omari to not just lead us offensively but to bring a better team effort. We need to find something quick or our season will be over before it really begins.

                    Not much to say-
we just lost at home, in the campus arena no less, where we were "unbeatable", to a team that was 0-7 against D1 competition, and was picked 8th in the 8-team Summit League. As much as I am not totally surprised, it can't get any worse than that.

                    Here are the stats-

31% overall, and 3-22 from three- I have said it all year- we are not a good shooting team. I was criticized by fans saying we had way better shooters coming in.
IUPUI was shooting 29% from three through 8 games, but managed to shoot 54% from three tonight.
Ian Chiles and Khufu Najee, who would not have been given any consideration as walkons at Bradley, just burned us for 39 points
IUPUI got 13 points and 8 rebounds off the bench from Donovan Gibbs, while Bradley got virtually nothing from our usual bench players.

The only good thing I can say I saw was that when we were desperate late in the game and down by double digits under 7 minutes, we pressed IUPUI and eventually got a bunch of turnovers and scored on many of them to close their lead down to 2 points with 2:42 left. Unfortuantely it was too late, and we had to start fouling which pushed their lead back to 10.
I hope we learned from that. The one advantage we had was bigger, athletic players and we should have tried pressing earlier. They were a slow team with questionable ball handling. We need to play to the strength of the team, which clearly is not 3-point shooting.

Yes, as I said in the chat room, my estimate for the actual attendance was less that 2,000. The most populated sections on the sides were less than 50% occupied, and the end zone sections were almost empty.

The "official" attendance still has not been announced.

Geno gets the credit for this game. Some people left at half time. I left one minute before the end of the game. This basketball (?) is worse than Coach Mo's last year. I saw more talent on Coach Mo's last team than this current team. There are a lot of basic fundamental errors that the players continue to make. Some of it looks to be low basketball IQ and some is coaching. I thought Geno should have called more time outs in the first half (he only used one) and he could have used his 3 time outs late in the second half to calm the team down. I was thinking early in the season that I might go to Las Vegas to watch the tournament Dec 20-21, but after this painful night I am glad I did not make that commitment. I think this team will struggle in the MVC and will likely play again Thursday. I know it is still a long season, but I am not positive for Geno's future here. With Lemon and Pickett gone next year, who is going to step up? I used to have 6 seasons tickets and the last few years I have had 4, but if next year is not any better, I will find something better to spend my time. Sorry, if I am a Debbie Downer, but it was painful for the fans tonight.

9-5 IUPUI at first timeout 15:50.
On the pregame on radio they said it had something to with schoolwork as to why Barnes didn't start.

Don't know what to say here......my biggest question is how many wake-up calls does this team need....no excuse to lose to this team ever, back-ups should be able to keep pace with that team! Is it coaching, poor leadership on the court from your Sr leaders......both? Where is the fire.....where is the pride? I have no answers.........

I think it could be a close game or IUPUI could win if BU doesn't play well. I've seen a couple of their games on tv and they seem pretty solid to me despite the record.
                              I'm not surprised.

Yes, I heard the reason from an inside source , and this is close. That is all I'll say. It really wouldn't have made any difference tonight.
