I would contend that if a non-conference schedule is weak 2 or more years in a row (like it has been), then that is what is much more likely to make fans not renew their season tickets, and drive down attendance.
Just to be clear, you are saying six years in a row with a weak non con schedule is the reason attendance is down?

        Attendance BU Frosh-Varsity Game

Asian Sens....You are really not correct that preconference schedule does not affect attendance. To the contrary, the schedule is one of several factors and is very significant in its affect... Your post verifys this. The attendance numbers you show for 2012/13 and 2011/12 average 7,098. Your numbers for 2007/08, 2008/09, and 2009/2010 average 9350. This is a drop in attendance of 2252 or 24%.
Of course, there are other factors...No TV, poor preseason events, games in the RC, a poor W/L record, ticket price increases, Etc.
The AD and Pres. have been stubborn and dead wrong in ignoring these factors and its taken a heavy toll on our once proud BB program, IMO.

Walk-up attendence is most directly impacted by the quality of opponent.

Attendance (avg) has fallen from almost 10K to 6K (and even the 6K is pretty suspect) - it is moronic to continue to blame someone or some factor from years ago!
Remember - we had SIMILAR bad losing stretches in the early 90's and early 2000's and never saw such a severe and sustained dropoff in attendance.
As recently as 2000 we averaged 10,200, and even in the last years of the Mo era and the bad losing early years 2002-2004 - the average still stayed well above 9000. JL had only one season under 9K, and now we're going to hit our 4th in a row, and 2nd in a row under 7000.

Bradley was around 40th to 50th in attendance nationally for a couple decades - now we're around 80-90th with numbers dropping a declining as we speak - all this talk of "improvement" is not resulting in the most precious commodity - fans in the seats. For an explanation of that all one needs to do is talk to some of the long time fans who are NOT coming any more.
The reasons have been discussed and as someone just said recently - "we've been through this already - good grief I'm done.."
Easy wins from playing a UTPA and Alabama State are hurting us at the box office. Even many of those who demanded all of the exact changes we now have - are no longer seen at the arena -
I'm still there and many good fans are likewise - but we see the problems unfolding that will take years to reverse...
Just might have something to do with winning championships or even conference tournaments last time we saw that was only 17 years ago 1996 to be exact! And making post season tournaments NCAA or NIT NOT buy in tournaments (cit cbi etc) to pad your won loss record

I didn't like the scheduling in the 70's that helped build up the overall record and I don't like the scheduling now. Does that mean I'm not a Bradley fan? Of course boards like this weren't around back then and we kept our criticisms to ourselves and still supported the program. As I said before, IMO the ones in charge now don't know, or don't care, how this community loves Bradley basketball. Defend them all you want, but it's obvious to most.

It would be much easier to just not care anymore and find another hobby wouldn't it?
