yeah - a lot of people missed on Doug McDermott - one of them was the head coach of Iowa State who did not even recruit Doug - and who was happy to see his own son go to UNI

We really missed the boat on Alex. I have said all along when we were recruiting the Taphorn kid that we should be recruiting Alex. The Taphorn kid is getting minutes @ Northwestern but I still like Alex better.

I could not agree more, and I said the same things last year about we should have recruited him. I think Taphorn will be a good player for Northwestern, but he is not as D1 ready as Alex is.

Bottom line both are good shooters but Alex is the better of the two and has a bigger D-1 body. He is only going to get better and is the type of kid we need to be recruiting. We seem to love kids who can run and jump but can't shoot a lick. I'm ready for some kids that can.

BU always wants the "atheletic" players. Give me the shooters.
What part of illegal don't you understand?

I'm with you on this.Last time I checked they only put points on the board, not who can run the fastest or jump the highest. WE NEED SHOOTERS PERIOD.

Alec Peters only 16 minutes then rested because their game was a 40 point blowout win - but he still hit 5-5...
His stats on the year after nine games/nine starts - team leading 16 ppg, 51% shooting, 48% 3-pt pct, 74% FT, 5 rebs, 2 asst, 1 stl/gm - doing his Washington Panthers proud.
...and by all reports - having a great time - he already has 1/3 as many NCAA D-I career points scored as Washington grad Matt Roth had in his fine 5-year college career.

Alec and Matt both would have looked good in a Bradley uniform.

Alec Peters scored 30 points (4-7 from three) and had 8 rebounds today in Valparaiso's win over Loyola Marymount
Box score for the Valparaiso Beacons vs. Loyola Marymount Lions NCAAM game from December 14, 2013 on ESPN. Includes all points, rebounds and steals stats.

It's actually the 2nd time he's scored 30. He had 30 points against Evansville. He is averaging 16.1 ppg and 5.2 rpg.

                        I'd take that any day

BTW - their early season attendance is up and Alec Peters was named the Athlete of the Month for the entire school, he starts, plays 36 minutes, is their best player and can only get better.

Might be the biggest miss that we've not recruited in a long time.

I have heard that he wanted to stay local, and would have loved to be offered by Bradley. How many local kids have we recruited lately? Once Jordan Prosser is gone, we'll be without a single Central Illinois kid for the first time since 2001.
