Peters was home Monday to help out with clean up in Washington, goes back to school on Tuesday and says in an interview he hopes to give something to Washington that they can cheer about and help take their mind off the damage at least for a little bit. Last night in 100-92 loss vs Evansville, Peters had
30pts (10-15FG, 7-11 from 3, 3-3FT).

We would have had to gone after him to lose out on him. K.now what I mean. Alex will be fun to watch even if it is at Valpo
So you believe we didn't recruit him, or you know we didn't recruit him? That's pretty unfortunate if we didn't recruit someone in the backyard that is as skilled as Alex is.
There is always the chance that Alex told Geno (or whoever) that he appreciated the interest, but was not interested in attending Bradley for reasons X,Y , and Z... It would then be a waste of precious recruiting time if Geno and staff continued their efforts...
There isn't the tiniest bit of evidence that Alex excluded any programs .. in fact he appears to have welcomed any and all offers, which is why he had such a LONG list of them...
Other strong evidence referred to in this (and the other thread about Alex) by several who knew him, also points to the fact that he and his family would have loved to have had the option to play for Bradley but that it was never offered....
It is water under the bridge now - it's like pining over a ship that's already sailed...
What we need is to identify the good players, especially the kids that can PLAY at this level and SCORE & produce at this level, get on them early, and land them. That means perhaps offering them as sophomore & juniors and staying on them to get them.
Like it or not...most players landed in the past two and a half years were someone we picked up in the "late period", who became available or became a target only a few weeks or months earlier...
The only players on the entire team who were BRADLEY recruiting targets long in advance of when they verballed are Jordan Prosser and Walt Lemon.
Crawford, Shayok, Hodges, Fields, Grier, Barnes, Swopshire, Shaw, Taylor, and Blake all verballed during the late period, only a few weeks to months after becoming "a recruit"...
Plus - Bell, Pickett, and Tucker also verballed with little lead time for Geno - since he only arrived a couple months before they committed...and Bell (Harris) and Pickett (Coty Clarke) were not our first options and Geno appears to have turned to them when the other targets went elsewhere.
None of these kids were followed very long before we decided on them - and it's not all Geno's fault - it is because he maybe didn't have the lead time to watch them and follow them for a year.
But we do need to get those kinds of relationships going to land the kids who blow up..
Peters earns his 2nd Freshman of the Week honor in the Horizon League!
He is averaging 16pts 6rebs a game so far this season. It will be fun to watch how much he continues to grow as a player the next couple years! Very similar game to Doug McDerrmott from Creighton, just saying. Not saying he is that good yet but has a chance to be. Doug averaged 14pts & 7rebs as a fresh!
