We are seeing how bad a team can be without their leader[s], as we found out a few years ago. But can't use that as an excuse.

Once again, we had a scare thrown into us last night by a team that we shoulda mauled by 20-25, and when we went to the bench we looked shaky....
even like we were about to give up the entire 25 pt lead.....requiring us to play heavy, mid-season minutes (32, 34, 36, even 38 ) with multiple of our starters.
Yes we should have beaten CS by 20-25 but we didn't and hope we learn from it.Still playing alot of new D-1 kids. Can't expect miracles overnight. I'm just happy to see the improvement in people like Grier,Blake, Barnes and Taylor.
I hear your concerns about minutes played but if the kids are in good shape that shouldn't be a problem. The idea of injuries because of extended minutes concern me more than anything else. These kids are 18 to 21 years old and if our coaching staff have them in great shape the number of minutes shouldn't matter.IMO
It sure is nice not hearing some people complain about our lack of 3 point shooting. It has been enjoyable watching Grier and Austin knock down those 3's and quite the few naysayers.

true - seems losses when team leaders and leading scorers were missing were still all hung on the coach in the past...
but seriously - if we were a deep team with a 25 point lead on a bad CSU squad - we still should been able to hold them off.
The issue here isn't talent, and isn't the quality of play - we have not handled the full court presses. Probably every team for the rest of the season is gonna press us now that they've seen game film of our past two games.
