Good to see Tyshon playing very well again. And Grier looking good with the three pointers. The Chicago State defense is keying on Walt. He isn't getting many shots but others are stepping up.

This team looks good so far this year in most aspects except turnovers. We have been so sloppy early this year, we need to get that fixed before conference season. Not sure why we have been so sloppy, maybe so many new faces?

        Final score
        Chicago St. 64
        Bradley 77

After Walt fouled out, Bradley struggled against the CSU defense. What looked like a blowout turned into a much closer game. Geno seemed quite concerned with how difficult the offense became without Walt.

Most of the turnovers are just stupid and unforced. We cannot do that Sunday if we don't want to embarrass ourselves.

-this Chicago State team is not good - we were well on the way to a 30 point blowout win until Walt got into foul trouble

-we lose one starter and we look like a Thursday night team

-can't wait 'til the PJS writers spin this one into another "we have quality depth" argument..we are not deep unless Walt lemon is in there

-I suggest we do a little work in practice against the press - it still looks like we've never practiced a press-breaker

-I am happy we made a few threes & hit a good pct of our FT otherwise we lose this game to a team that scrapped hard and found our weaknesses

-Xzavier Taylor should start at the 5 and play starters' minutes - he deserves it..

-Wells showed everyone he does deserve more playing time..he contributed with a basket, a deflection, a tip, kept the ball alive on the rim, a rebound or challenged someone's shot every single possession while he was in there

-good, vocal crowd & student section despite a lot of no-shows - announced at 6797 -

I don't think we can play man to man with Wells in the game.

I contend that teams like Chicago State have no center at all - so I think Nate can guard whoever they want to send into the paint - the problem is that with the new foul rules they drive the paint and it's a foul on our center every time -
Blake fouled out - XT did a fine job playing a lot of minutes in the low post but we need one more guy and Nate did OK

MAYBE because our only plan against their press is to run towards the inbounder and then receive the inbounds pass in the DISTANT FAR CORNER 95 FEET FROM THE BASKET,
then wait there 'til the double team comes and traps us in the corner with no option but to force a silly pass to someone who's also double teamed.

2 for 1 tonight, got to see two games for the price of one and I don't mean the girls game. The 1st half was as good as we've looked this year but what in the hell happened the 2nd half. That was as ugly as a red headed step sister. I don't think we can blame it all on Walt not playing much the 2nd half because he didn't play a whole lot the 1st half and we looked very good without him. Maybe it took them that long to realize Walt wasn't on the floor. Thought Grier,Austin and Taylor had very good games. 1st half thought Fields looked much better but he hardly saw the floor in the 2nd half all the while Bell really struggled in the 2nd half. Blake did a good job but couldn't stay out of foul trouble. Listened to Geno on the way home and he was quite funny even though he said he couldn't believe what he just saw and neither could I.

Something about Barnes...I really like him so far. He appears to be a great addition and he's a "basketball player" and not just an athlete.

As bad as that second half was, at least Walt got some rest.

Walt and TP had bad games on the same night, cannot happen from your Sr leaders......JP might want to start to worry about PT when he gets back, XT is becoming one of my favorite players along with Barnes and Grier! XT looks like he could have a bright future if he keeps on developing! Must admit....cheered loudest on Nates hook shot, very fun!

Title should be.......Braves sloppy 2nd half lets Chicago State hang around!

There may be times for Nate to play??¦and while he can keep a ball alive on the boards they drove right at him and scored instantly too??¦??¦..it will be a trade off and just depends who else is playing IMO

I'm starting to see visions of a Les coached team. The tale of 2 halves and just slack off after building a nice lead only to blow it. I'm thinking a majority of it is just the fact we have 8 new players trying to play together and the lack of focus with cupcake teams. This team desperately needs Walt out there though, Walt might just have to slack off on defense to stay out of foul trouble with these stupid no contact on the offensive player rules.

Next 2 games will tell us everything we need to know about what rest of season will be like. They play good, will be a top 3 finish, they get blown out by 20+ points each game, will likely be a Thursday night team.

                                BU Braves.com:

PEORIA, Ill. ? Bradley scored the game's first 11 points and built its lead to as many as 25 points early in the second half, then had to hold off a late Chicago State for a 77-64 win Friday night.
