DES MOINES, Iowa -- Bradley senior guard Will Franklin (Houston, Texas/Alief Hastings H.S.) scored a career-best points and junior forward Matt Salley (Charlotte, N.C./North Mecklenburg H.S.) added his career-bests with 17 points and 10 rebounds, leading the Braves (7-3) to a virtual road win Saturday afternoon versus Iowa State (7-4) in the Mediacom Cyclone Capital Classic at the Wells Fargo Arena.
Mac-- one of the broadcasters, probably Doug Gottlieb, said it was because of the "new ball" they are playing with this year, and that the surface of the new ball is actually somewhat sticky.
I think his explanation is insane, since I believe it is only the NBA that is playing with a new ball this year.
Not sure why ESPN uses Gottlieb.
Gottlieb has more than once discredited himself and made an idio*t out of himself.
He has been negative on the midmajors, has criticized his former coach and mentor, Eddie Sutton, and also Bob Knight.
He soundly ripped Wisconsin's Brian Butch last year, Butch had 27 points, 11 rebounds yesterday.
