Aaaaaaaand I rest my case. We get it. People would have reacted differently under Les than they do with Geno. I have understood that point for 2.5 years. I would probably agree to a point. But why keep saying the same thing over and over?

As you say DC, "fans want to see results." True, but if you want to go back, Les didn't have outstanding results either. He did some great things, gave 100%, but his W/L record is very average for BU standards. Fireable results? Arguable, but his main problem, in retrospect, might have been ticking off the boss.

And T, you really should stay away from the other board.

no- read my post again - they act the same whether the coach is Joe Stowell or Coach K - if the team has 20 turnovers against a 300RPI team's press then I suspect someone on a message board would have noticed it in 2006 as well as 2013.

Surely you and the admins notice that thousands of fewer fans are coming and we are reduced to playing one of the worst schedules in the country. Maybe this will be the year we contend for the championship experience we were promised. But don't blame fans who have long proven their loyalty and support when we are not getting what was promised, yet prices have been jacked up tremendously.
We'll all be happy when we finally get there.
Yes, fans are unhappy and disenchanted because we sank deep into mediocrity and that's one reason Jim was let go. Yes, fans did complain about 4th place finishes but moreso because we were playing on Thur night in St L. Jim's last few years and no we aren't where we want to be but that's because of what Geno was left with when he came. Yes, I'm well aware of the declining attendance but I firmly believe if Geno gets us contending for titles that will be resolved.Maybe not but I do think so.I understand that fans want results today but you need to look at the big picture and again I blame the last two years on what Geno was left with. This board used to be so good until everyone got whacked for telling it like it was and that didn't agree with Mods and certain folks. Why can't we just try to be more positive like everyone had to be at one time to remain on this board. It was at one time the place to be but...... Lastly, I DO agree with you on the prices being jacked up at the PCC and RC. I have expressed my feelings about the way the RC sales were handled and I probably will not see another game there after this year. My wife and I commented the other night how many empty seats there were in the first 3 rows. Don't know if all those emptys were sold and people couldn't give them away or if they haven't been sold. Either way it's pretty sad.

For the record, you are incorrect. The only Thursday night appearance in Jim's last 6 years was the unfortunate 2010-11 season when he was forced to play without 2 All MVC starters. Maybe some people blame the coach for that, but I am sure most don't. Even the AD and Pres commented that the coaches could not be held accountable because of those circumstances.

EXCUUUUUUUUUUSE me I stand corrected but tell me you didn't hear rumblings of Jim being on thin ice as far back as the history making 2006 season. Up until Feb. of 06 Jim was feeling the heat . There were alot of people not very happy with what was going on with that team and all it's talent.

Yes. We heard rumblings literally right from day one. And they were very loud in 2004-2005, Jim's 3rd year as ell as most of 2005-06. So why the hysteria now when such lofty promises were made and so much more resources have been invested yet so little results and an awful home schedule?

BECAUSE I will say for the LAST TIME because I don't think you'll EVER get IT. Outside of WL and somewhat DSE GENO WAS LEFT WITH AN EMPTY CUBBARD. PLAIN annd SIMPLE. I have said on this forum if Geno can't get this turned around I expect he'll go the same route as JL,JM,SA and JS but I like what he's doing even if a few do not.

The empty cupboard excuse can't last forever, especially since his best players for 3 years have been ones he inherited. And, IMO, it's bogus anyway, since multiple inherited players were All MVC plus a Defensive POY.
All I am saying is that a large number of fans (they look like empty seats at the games) believe we did not need a total tear-down and rebuild, and that we did not need to get this bad for this long. The fallout has has done great damage to this program, and drained away many millions of dollars that could have been better spent, IMO. Regardless of who different factions want to blame, there have been promises made, and not just for men's basketball, that have not been fulfilled.

When you have a program like Bradley's was when Les was here, after awhile some fans will be unhappy with it. Just like Mo's??¦some weren't happy he was fired and some were. Some were happy(or at least ready for a change) when Les was fired and some weren't??¦.It should be about BU and not one individual.

The board's tone(not everyone) has obviously changed since JL was fired??¦.as posters who still can post here ,we can stay or go??¦it's our choice??¦

Personally I like talking about all the other stuff associated with BU basketball but I sometimes have a hard time not expressing an opinion when some have an "agenda" to discredit because of previous loyalty??¦??¦??¦..

Geno may do well or he may fail??¦if the administration decides to make a change some day it's out of our control. Doesn't mean they were wrong about firing Les either??¦.or Mo for that matter??¦??¦.

When I make a business decision there are risks??¦.some work out and some haven't??¦.quite frankly there are less and less no brainer decisions nowadays ??¦
In any event you have to move forward??¦.if you don't and live in the past??¦..well it's not good and I think most people know that.

This was a good board??¦.it doesn't resemble it anymore and it's pretty obvious. That is not a knock to some of the mods because I don't know who all they are really anyway??¦.

People, particularly men feel the need to be right all the time. I think it's called pride. I have certainly fell into that class but sometimes circumstances happen that make you take a step back and realize life isn't all about me??¦personally I try not to take myself too seriously anymore??¦.

I don't know if this board can get back to what it was??¦.it's up to certain individuals for that to happen??¦..but it's time everyone to lay down the gauntlet(if you have one) and move on

The whole board wars thing is kind of silly IMO??¦??¦??¦

now I'm going to watch Grown Ups 1 and 2??¦??¦sorry for the rant

Glad we had our monthly JL vs GF debate. Looking forward to December to see if there's something new brought up.

This is true. From day one there was a faction not happy with the hire, including one journalist. But quite a bit of that was appeased by the S16 run. And I also agree with the injury thing, DC. In fact, the year JL was fired, he had significant injury problems. That's why I think his dismissal had more to do with his relationship with the brass than actual results on the court, regardless of what was reported.

I liked JL, I thought he did some great things. But I like to focus on BU, and he's not here. The rest of the board is plenty aware that DC and T think there has been fallout. There has been. And some fallout is always going to happen when you change. But I don't believe EVERY leaf that falls happens because of a wind that blew a month ago.

Even if the fallout concept is 100% accurate to every degree, I don't believe there is a whole lot more to the argument that hasn't already been said, and I enjoyed this board much better when we erred on the optimistic side, rather than the pessimistic side.

There are expectations this year. If they are not met I assume grumblings about GF will commence, from all factions. Let's let it play out.

I prefer to discuss & root for this year's team & the future instead of 300 page threads dwelling in the past and totally engulfed in bitterness, personal whining and bickering

                          so -
let's talk about Tramique Sutherland - this kid is getting better every day -
Hill College won again last night to go 5-1 with a 82-62 clobbering of Jacksonville.
Tramique had 19 points to lead Hill College

                            positive

That is what i am talking about Tornado get positive about the good kids this program has and the ones we are bringing in. I was not bashing you! As i said in the post i know you are huge BU fan and you support BU at all times. I just keep stressing that this team has the tools to be very tough. Our job is to support them and be happy we are getting good kids who work hard and represent BU the way they should.

thanks - I am there every game cheering loudly enough that I always get the Qdoba T-shirt - got a zillion of them.
In fact - I was wearing one not long ago when I was more than 5000 miles from Peoria and some other traveller came up to me and coveted the T-shirt & told me he was from Tremont, IL - kinda cool!
..but I don't cheer just for the T-shirt or to be seen, I cheer because I am a fan and have always supported the coaches & the team. I do not boycott games nor cheer for us to lose nor dodge being a donor as many have admitted yet still claim to be fans
