as we all have seen - the NCAA has new rules on touch fouls, hand guarding, and being physical...
Their stated reason is the claim that defenses are grabbing, hitting, and hand checking, and that it holds scoring down and nobody wants to see 45-41 final scores..
BUT - are the new rules doing a THING to help?
Let's assume the new rules are being administered fairly and uniformly - which, of course, we know they are NOT --
making game preparation extremely difficult unless & until you know the names of the refs who are going to be doing your game.
Many think the rules are not helping but HURTING the offensive flow, as so many fouls are being called that there's literally one on every possession
and it is HAMPERING the offenses - except for the number of free throws being taken.
Is this what people want - every game decided by who makes the most free throws?
The national writers have already seen enough of this insanity.
