BTW - speaking of Walt and how great of a player he has become and how much he means to our chances....
Wonder if anyone else remembers when we first recruited Walt? He was pretty obscure & unknown and there were more than a couple doubters who thought he was too far under the radar

You love to bring up the fact that we recruit guys who can't score, well Walt averaged 19 ppg his senior year. Stefan Zecevic averaged 31.5 ppg in high school. X almost averaged a double double as a 6th man. It's about how people develop. I've seen way too many snap judgments on a lot of our guys before the season has even started. Let's give it a little time before we decide what this year and the future of the program will entail.
Reading from last year's Hoops insert, there were some overly optimistic predictions made about Jalen Crawford, and Shayok Shayok, and unfortunately they were wrong.
Yes, Zecevic averaged 31.5 ppg at the small Alabama high school he attended, but his numbers at prep school were a fraction of that, and even Geno has been telling us he is not a scorer, but more of a hustle guy.

What I said is about as simple as 1+1 - that if we players who only averaged 8-9 ppg in high school or juco, then is it any surprise that they struggle to score in D-I...
I don't recall any prolific scorer in BU history who BECAME a scorer after he got to college?
I kinda think such a scenario is exceedingly rare....
I am happy with whoever we recruit - if they help us win....
If they sit the bench and do not contribute, then I expect they won't stay around here very long as we have seen with the large and rapid turnover the last couple years...
If we can win games, have some team successes & post-season wins, then there'll be no complaints from me.
But, again I ask, why are people suddenly surprised when I talk about recruiting & personnel? Since the inception of this message board that's just about all most fans seem to do.
BTW - the Hoops section was overall - well done and obviously is the result of a lot of hard work...and I appreciate it & hope it gets people interested and coming to games...
