Yes, he may have chosen Detroit over BU , but I think it had more to do with Sutherland already signing here. Could be wrong but that's my opinion. Not sure why another JC PG would come here if they want minutes. WE need to get a good Freshmen PG for our future. It would be nice if we could redshirt one but not sure Geno can afford to bring someone in that can't help us immediately.

Simpson was overlooked by a lot of schools for his size (really about 5-9) and his poor shot selection - which can sometimes be read as ball hogging and selfishness...

given how many times the ball was in his hands - his stats of 33.9% 3-pt shooting, 43% shooting overall on 16 shot attempts per game & 2.6 apg

Remember - people called Walt Lemon a ball hog but he had almost twice the assists and similar scoring numbers at a far tougher level than DII juco ball

I think our coaches were looking at Simpson as more of a shooting guard. But what I heard a couple months ago was that a couple of our coaches liked Simpson and the fact he could make tough shots when heavily guarded. But Geno was not high on him and thought we needed a shooting guard with a bit more size. I think we backed off him recently.

          "Motor City bound
"Aaron Simpson is headed to Detroit next season. Aaron is a very special
kid and has made great strides since he arrived here at Lincoln College"
said Lynx Assistant Coach Tanner Morris.

Simpson, a scoring guard, averaged 23 ppg and 4.9 rebounds this past
          season for the 18-14 Lynx.

Simpson, a North Chicago, IL resident, signed with Illinois State University
out of high school but failed to qualify academically. Simpson visited the
Titans campus back in the fall.

Simpson shot 43% (184-427) from the floor and 34% (56-165) from three
          point range."

According to several sources Simpson is no longer going to Detroit University and will be attending DePaul University instead.

Sounds confusing to me. Just 11 days ago he verbally committed to Detroit. What would cause DePaul to suddenly come into the picture now? There are no reports that they had even been recruiting Simpson before this afternoon. Is that how desperate DePaul has become to be stealing 5'10" shooting guards away from mid-majors?
This switch to DePaul was just reported on Twitter about 1 hour ago-

let's see - ISU, juco, Bradley, Detroit, DePaul -- if you don't like where the kid is going then wait a day or so because he'll probably change...
