Gargoyle? That's the best we could come up with? Really? I guess only time will tell if this was the right choice. Don't have much faith in this administration to market this the right way.

First off, I love this idea.

Second of all, those who don't like it -- that's fine. But this is not a case where you can pin this on "the administration" as some already have tried. There have been surveys conducted (multiple rounds) with over 3200 responses that all clearly showed a desire for the Gargoyle (over other options, including "no mascot"). It involved students, faculty, alumni, etc. So be upset, but know that, according to the survey (where the sample size appears to have been significant), you are in the minority. It's going to happen, so why not give it a fair shake?

Here are a couple pictures of an inflatable version of the gargoyle mascot that was in the foyer of the Renaissance Coliseum as fans were leaving. This must be the "friendly" version of the mascot-

Actually, I think that may have been an inflatable version that another organization on campus purchased prior to athletics announcing it as a mascot. They must have decided it would be a fun visual to put out there. At least that's what I was told. I don't think it's intended to be any representation of what the actual mascot will look like.
