The report says 300 were present - that has to be the smallest spaghetti supper crowd by "light years"..
They keep changing the format...
for a long time the spaghetti supper was held as a stand-alone event at the ITOO Hall and was an immensely popular event - routinely drew 1200, 1500, 1700 people...
The final year it was held at the ITOO, 2009, it wasn't originally planned but was an added-on event that got very little publicity and was added only when fans voices their objections to the event being retired...
- Nonetheless, I arrived just before 5 PM that night and counted 300 people standing in line outside waiting to get in!!!!!!!
then after a couple of years of combining it with a scrimmage, noiw it's back to just the preseason spaghetti dinner this year...but as we can see, fan interest is down and attendance is way, way down.
I know it'll probably take a couple years of winning a bunch more for the fans to come back - but also consider returning to a time-proven formula that was extremely successful.
One more thing - the old formula always was packed with kids...hundreds of children who became big Bradley fans at an early age --
but ever since moving the spaghetti supper to the late end of a bunch of VB and basketball scrimmages, the number of kids has declined a bunch.
Look at the picture from last night there are few kids there - this is a big loss for the future.
This is and always has been a super event and we need to find whatever it takes to get the fans back.
I agree T. It shows the shortsightedness of the present regime. They need to get a better Marketing person in there that thinks of the future part of the program, not just this year. When can you get Dr. Cross on for a chat?
