Taylor Brown signs with new pro team

Taylor Brown, who played pro ball in Germany last season and averaged 16.8 ppg and 8.3 rpg for the Fraport Skyliners, has signed to play for a team in the top pro league in Sweden this season- KFUM Nassjo in the Basketligan of Sweden. No official announcement has been released yet, but Taylor leaves tomorrow to join his new team, and their first regular season game is this coming Sunday!

The only other American on the team is point guard James Washington, who played at Western Illinois, before transferring to Indian Hills junior college, then played his final 2 years at Middle Tennessee State. Ironically, he received recruiting interest from Bradley as a high schooler at Vashon HS in St. Louis.

Nassjo was badly outrebounded 37-24. Taylor Brown did not play in the game, as he just arrived in Sweden at the end of last week and the paperwork was not processed by the league to allow him to be eligible for today's game. Nassjo's next game is Tuesday, Oct. 8, and Taylor has been assured he will be able to play in that game. Let's hope he makes a difference for his team.

Looks like Taylor is really needed by his new team- they lost their second game yesterday 92-53 to Sundsvall as TB sat out for the second time. He should be eligible for their next game.

He came off the bench to make the game close. He played 25 minutes and scored 19 points on 6-10 from 2-point range, 1-3 from three, and 4-6 FTs. He also had a team-high 10 rebounds. Taylor Brown played in his second game for Nassjo in Sweden. He came off the bench again, but I think he will soon be starting. He lead his team in scoring with 19 points, and rebounding with 9 rebounds, in only 24 minutes played. He also tied for his team's lead in assists. Unfortunately, Nassjo lost the game to Boras 101-92 to drop to 0-4.

Taylor Brown's team played their 5th game today, and the 3rd game that TB has played in. He continues to do well. He came off the bench again today and scored 15 points, and had 18 rebounds. But his team lost again 85-77, to go to 0-5. TB leads the team with a scoring average of 17.7 ppg and 12.3 rpg (tops in the league).

Dyricus Simms-Edwards continues to put up good numbers, too. He scored 25 points and had 8 rebounds in his latest game with Marso NYKK in the Hungarian pro league. He is now averaging 24.3 ppg (leads the league by 5.3 point margin over 2nd leading scorer), and 4.3 rpg.
