No idea...seems like the last several years it's been mainly conference games...but honestly I don't keep track.....I know about it when they hit me up for advertising....

      ...
I also cross paths and chat with a dozen people a day who know I am a big BU fan and who strike up a conversation about the Braves...
as Da Coach said - never had so many asking about who they have, how they gonna be, who we gonna play...etc --
so won't waste time tell ya any more..... same experience - in fact I had people asking when the season tickets were going to be available for pickup - 2 or 3 games INTO the season!!!
Most of them are older, long time fans, the kind you'd surely never want to alienate or lose - but when the subject of going online to see the schedule or ticket options - they say..
"we don't even have a computer......"

There were 2 more that were picked up by the Big Ten Network. The Michigan State game was at the Civic Center, and if the BTN had not bought the rights, it also would have been televised.
Plus note that the first 5 MVC conference games were televised, and a total of 13 games were on WTVP that season, and 7 more on Comcast, ESPN3, BTN, or the MVC-TV network. That is 20 TV games in 2011-12. You think we'll see that many this year? We'd have to televise nearly every remaining game to get there this season!

The seasons, this one in particular, have been starting earlier than they used to.

If anyone here or at Bradley think the majority of the older fans use computers every day, and log in on the BU website to check the schedule, they are thinking rather shallow.
In past years they had media guides mailed to them, they had pocket schedules, they had ads running before every game in the PJS sports section announcing the next game, there were billboard ads, radio ads, and TV ads, and they even got refrigerator magnets with the schedule on them most years. And there were frequent games broadcast on TV in the past to generate the interest and remind the casual fans the games were being played. Couple that with a ton of early games and switching venues, and a lot of people missed games because of the lack of promotion, or because they didn't even know they were being played. I have had a number of fans tell me they didn't know there was a game after they saw it the next day in the paper.

I am sure some will scoff at this, but I can guarantee it has been a factor. Maybe nobody cares at Bradley, but that might be part of the problem.
There are digital billboards rotating around Peoria at major intersections announcing upcoming games. Bobby Parker even tweets live with in-game updates that are then posted on these billboards.

                    • Wichita will have 25 of their 31 games on TV plus all their post-season games - so likely 85%+ of their games on TV - many on national channels like ESPN -
but - they are not happy at all, apparently --

Many have been unhappy since the first deal with Cox. The games broadcast locally are only available to those who subscribe to Cox which screws the numerous people with Dish, Direct and U-verse. Cox also refuses to go into many communities so those people don't even get the choice. I think the Cox issue is the biggest one.

ESPN3 is inconvenient for a number of people and those with Direct can't access it. But I don't think that's a big problem.

I wouldn't have Cox if it weren't for the WSU games. But I don't fault Cox for what they do or WSU for allowing them to do it. I believe those in KC can sometimes get the Cox games on Metro Sports since they provide the crew I think that does the games. Until a local station is willing to pony up the dough to give Shocker fans what they want, Cox is the obvious choice. Even Kansas has a deal with them now and a number of their preconference games are on there.

                        • I noticed that the game last Friday night was actually SIUs feed with our announcers, if that's what "saluki productions" is.

Yes, that was good to see we had our own announcing team, unlike the WSU game.

                            • Friday's game was produced by ScheffTech Productions specifically for Bradley and WAOE. We did partner with SIU, however, and they received a clean feed of the broadcast, which allowed them to insert their commercial inventory during the breaks on WSIU. We'll have a reverse arrangement for the game in Carbondale next month.
