  • Loyola gunning for the Valley

Nice article on Loyola's next 2 games against MVC opponents, and how this could be a make-or-break stretch for the Ramblers' NCAA hopes.

But the Ramblers entered this season considered the class of their league and in senior guard Blake Schilb they possess the performer expected to be the Horizon's player of the year.

He has yet to play that way, battling niggling injuries...
What the heck is a niggling injury? What is niggling and how do people get injured doing it?

I don't know, but I am offended by that word.

Reminds me of the incident where a white staffer under the mayor of Washington DC used the word niggardly in a private meeting while discussing a financial report. Of course it has nothing to do with race, it means stingy.

But that didn't matter. Other DC officials, media people, and activists were outraged and demanded and got the staffer's resignation.

Political correctness never lets intelligence or common sense get in it's way.
