Jonathan Wilkins reclassifies as a 2013 recruit and enrolls at New Mexico State

BU recruit Jonathan Wilkins, who is at La Lumiere Prep in LaPorte, Indiana, and has always been considered a 2014 recruit, apparently has enough c redits to graduate now and has decided to re-classify as a 2013 grad.
He has accepted a scholarship and has enrolled at New Mexico State University.
NMSU had not previously been linked to Wilkins by any of the recruiting sites I've seen. -

One of his teammates at NMSU will be Matej Buovac, a former BU recruit. He'll also team with twin brothers 7'5" Sim Bhullar and 7'3" Tanveer Bhullar.

NMSU already has four players taller than Wilkins and their fans are talking about redshirting at least one of them..

but even the top NMSU fan site has a big question mark about this info as they had never heard of Wilkins..

interesting - now an entire 24 hours has passed since that first tweet about JW to NMSU - and in the interval,
no other mention or legitimate recruiting site has commented on it or confirmed...

after sitting out a whole year trying to get himself eligible at New Mexico State - Johnathon Wilkins, a one-time Bradley recruit, will reportedly be sitting out once again this year with his chances of getting eligible being somewhat bleak.

one surprise player that they were able to get eligible is Harold Givens - who had verballed a couple times, failed to gain eligibility, then reclassified...now finally seems to be on target to play this year at NMSU

Numerous articles had said ex-BU recruit Jonathon Wilkins was an academic uncertainly but now NMSU's roster is officially posted and he's on the roster and appears eligible to play

but they refer to Wilkins as "a true freshman" when we know he was there last year and redshirted

Jonathon Wilkins did not play in the NMSU Crimson/White last night - it was said he had a hand injury

Jonathan Wilkins played as a redshirt-freshman at New Mexico State this season. NMSU finished their regular season 20-10 (their 4th straight 20-win season), and easily won the WAC Conference.
Jonathan Wilkins played in every game for the Aggies, averaged 18 minutes per game, and even started 10 games earlier in the season. But over the last month of the season, he seemed to fall out of favor of the coach and his playing time shrunk to just 6-8 minutes per game.
On the season, he averaged 3.1 ppg and 2.7 ppg, but over the last 6 weeks of the season his averages were less than 1 ppg and 2 rpg.

the report is that he does not have enough credits earned after two years at NMSU (all he needs is 40% of what's required to graduate)
...despite that he enrolled 27 months ago and has been taking summer classes as well.
