  • Media calling for firing of NY Jets head coach after 3 exhibition games

This is hilarious. Here is an article calling for the firing of NY Jets head coach Rex Ryan after the Jets have only played 3 exhibition games! By the way, the Jets have won the last 2 games, and no team in the AFC has a better exhibition record (2-1).
N.Y. Jets coach Rex Ryan needs to be fired. No really, fired. This is not reaction trolling. I’d actually really fire him before Week 1 if I were Jets general manager John Idzik.

The writer's biggest gripe seems to be Rex Ryan's choice to play quarterback Mark Sanchez in the 4th quarter of yesterday's game with several 2nd string offensive lineman in the game. Sanchez left the game with a shoulder injury. But the game plan was to give rookie QB Geno Smith the start, and he played the majority of the game, but was not effective. Plus, if anyone saw the play on which Sanchez got hurt, the offensive line was not to blame. He dropped back to pass, then decided to improvise and run around the left end. He passed the ball just before he was chased down by an opposing lineman and knocked to the ground. It's hard to blame the linemen, when the quarterback runs away from his protection.

There are other sports writers criticizing some of the decisions by Rex Ryan, as new York sportswriters have always done, no matter who the coach is, but to call for the guy's firing in the pre-season, and over this nonsense issue, is ridiculous.

The writer has written some really stupid opinion pieces in the past as well, IMO. This one compared Johnny Manziel to Rosa Parks -

People need to let the coaches do their job. And especially sportwriters.

I suggest Rex Ryan call for this sports writer covering the J-E-T-S Jets, Jets, Jets to be fired/replaced as soon as possible!

This jerk isn't a 'reporter', but, a columnist/commentator....who has never been a coach/manager at any level, just an arm chair, Monday morning quarterback, second guessing buffon..

Like Bruce Arians of the Az Cardinals should be fired for playing their rookie starting guard too many plays last night exposing him to the chance of breaking his leg (which he did)... Or Buffalo Head Coach/Manager should be fired for putting a slippery mat in the tunnel to the practice field that their veteran QB injured himself on running onto the field.
